With the change of a few notes- the first stanza (repeated) is a near copy of the TV Theme Music for:

I can't see asking the band to write a song. I would think they would ORDER the Marine Corps Band commander to write a song if they wanted one.

I wonder if the person tasked with writing “Fanfare for the First Lady” actually re-worked the F-Troop theme as an inside joke. The themes are eerily similar.
