Is it ‘over’ for Asheville? S.C. tourist stabbed in back with hypodermic needle by homeless panhandler after refusing to give him money, police report states Sunday, 07 July 2024 21:10 From Staff Reports

A homeless man is facing an assault charge after a male South Carolina tourist was stabbed in the back with a hypodermic needle about 6:30 p.m. May 31 while walking on the 30 block of Biltmore Avenue in downtown Asheville with his wife and two young children, Asheville television station WLOS (News 13) reported on June 18.

Julien Bryan McArthur – described as “homeless” – is accused of stabbing the tourist after he refused to give money to the panhandler, the Asheville Police Department noted.

“The victim told police that Julien Bryan McArthur approached him and his family while they were walking and asked for money,” News 13’s story stated. “The victim, who was visiting from South Carolina, said he refused and continued walking.

“Minutes later, the victim said he was helping his family get into their car.”

APD Detective Nathan Dietiker told News 13 that, at that point, the victim “suddenly felt (something) like a prick or a sting in his back — and turned around and saw the same man that had been asking him for money,”

“The victim went to Mission Hospital and they confirmed that he was in fact stabbed with a hypodermic needle. He’s since been released and remains on antibiotics, according to authorities.”

It’s amazing, yet heartbreaking, to see places that used to a “decent place” now become crime ridden and, basically, a terrible place to live or visit.

Unfettered liberal policies lead to this. Liberals don’t want to do anything about homeless and panhandlers and assorted people with problems. So the problems fester and only get worse.

“turned around and saw the same man “
After the perp had approached and stabbed him. This is a perfect example of situational awareness, or, in this case, lack of situational awareness.
No one should be able to get that close to you, without you being aware of their approach. Head on a swivel, at all times.

That is why I hate cities.

There is no reason for me to go to a place where I am under high stress at all times.

If YOU would have shot the homeless man for doing that (and possibly giving you AIDS), type "Aye!"

Aye!

Liberal Nashville better get the bums off the main drag before they kill the Golden Goose for tourism dollars. Saratoga Springs NY is also under pressure and is on the verge of collapsing from woke policies allowing this bums ruin everything the taxpayers pay for.

Why should it be over? There only needs the popular will to arrest and jail criminals.

Turn around and shoot the bastard. Fear for your life- the next time turned around the dude had a syringe with God knows what all in it. Justified self defense. That each shall go armed- in no fear of one’s life and person.

Too late for Nashville- place is full of lefties, drunks and drug addicts— not all of whom are in the music bidness.

If we are talking about Asheville N.C., I agree 100%. The place is plagued with aggressive, homeless panhandlers, superfluous boutiques, artisan pottery stores, coffee shops, and liberals.

Never been to Asheville but a former resident who moved to California told me that it was the “Santa Cruz of the Carolinas”... by which she meant, I guess, that it was a hippy-dippy kind of town.

Voters, especially liberal voters, never see cause and effect of policies gone bad. They just vote for "more" as the cure.
