If the Republicans were a true opposition party then leadership of the party would have exposed President Biden's dementia long before now. Yet they did not so we know they are mere controlled opposition. The leadership of the GOP is supine, flaccid, and useless. What did McConnell, McCarthy and Johnson know and when did they know it?
McConnell should take one for the team and retire immediately after the DP convention.
The GOP has been saying Biden was not up to it since before the 2020 election. But no one paid any attention to them until the debate.

I agree with many of the comments that have been made. I’ll add that Republicans would have run into an MSM/Democratic party buzz saw if they had tried to remove Biden. The Democrats and the press own this.
Republicans can say that it wasn’t their job to force Biden out against the opposition of the Democrats and the press. It was up to the press to report honestly on Biden’s growing dementia. It was up to the Democrats to do right by the nation, and their own party. All they had to do was tell the truth and allow honest, open primaries.
Republicans can quote Napoleon’s maxim: Never interfere with the enemy when he is in the process of destroying himself. Democrats did this to themselves. The press enabled them to do so.

Look no further than multiple Republican majority State Legislatures that took no action before 2020 to stop Dem governors, Secretary of States and judges from selecting the time, location and manner of voting.
Same is happening again in 2024. Watch the Republican majority Wisconsin State Legislature stand by and do nothing while Dem's select the time, manner and location of elections.
