A town in the Mountain West found out the hard way that banning the most potent symbol in Christianity is not the best way to celebrate the nation’s enduring freedoms.
Rules for this year’s Fourth of July parade in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, originally prohibited religious symbols from being part of the procession — a bitter irony in a country where the very first provision of the very First Amendment guarantees the free exercise of religion.
And the backlash forced organizers to back down.

Communists
So they want to ban any religious symbols from a public event such as a 4th of July parade, but graphic and obscene symbolism at events such as homosexual themed pride parades are ok.

I’d probably upgrade that to “spirit of antichrist”, though they’re most often related.
“. . . a bitter irony in a country where the very first provision of the very First Amendment guarantees the free exercise of religion.”
And don’t forget the founders’ including the reference to Jesus in the Constitution.
I never understood the reasoning to ban Cristian symbols due to religious issues.
Yet allow other religions to display or teach what ever and call it “historical
Symbolism”
Thanks!
I sent this article to our adult grandkids and grand nieces/nephews. They are recent grads with real world degrees and are conservative.

great point- the left are anti-freedom- Trump should run on that point at his rallies- give example after example of the left trying to take away our rights while screaming about how intolerant republicans supposedly are- and have the family of the elderly women who have been imprisoned for protesting give a few words onstage=-
“the very first provision of the very First Amendment guarantees the free exercise of religion.”
As proposed before ratification, what is now the First Amendment was third on list.
What is now the 2nd Amendment was fourth on the proposed list.

I saw a short clip from a pride parade in which a preacher was trying to talk to the marchers. All the marchers did was scream at him.
Reminded me of the demons screaming when Christ cast them out of people.
The Tenth should be the first.
It wasn’t just a ban on religious symbols, the Chamber also banned political speech/slogans. You know, because nothing says “Independence Day” like banning speech.
what are you, some kind of homophobe? /s off. It’s good to see people fight back against the socialist A-hole oppressors.

One of the interesting things about the Bill of Rights is that it ended up being more radically in favor of individual rights than any of those in the particular colonies - a rare example of the collective solution being more “extreme” than its particular constituents.
Coer d’Alene has gone to the progressive cali-dogs.
Remember that obama had Georgetown hide all christian religious symbols when he spoke there.
Everyone should have brought all the religious symbols they could find in a show of solidarity and dissent. This is the time to stand together so we don’t fall apart.
Banning crosses kind of guarantees that there will be many, many crosses. Think of the reaction if the local gendarmerie were to try to stop people from carrying the crosses the city rulers pulled into the parade by the Ban or halted the parade when the crosses showed up.
