Sounds like the Australian Oome-Goome bird..........
The size made me think it was some regular blackbird. We don't see these mixed mini flocks around too often, but then in the past week we've seen a few birds show up with the offspring for the first time. Thus my ID confusion.
I've never paid much mind to who is who because they are low on the cuteness scale, and even lower on the behavioral scorecard. 🫤🤭
Odd because they hadn't been visible to suspect they were nesting nearby. Apparently they caught on to the free food.
This time of year, many bird parents (regular, adorable customers) use the suet cakes as a fast-food service for the kiddos. It's fun to watch them take food back to the trees to the awaiting baby beggars, or bring the lil' tykes to the food.
