while nearly 24 percent think the U.S. government knew about the upcoming attacks but chose to let them happen.

the article is point to lack of trust. In fact, I never thought I would say i hate my govt.

But the above? you have 100 threats, one is real, how do you know which one. I would think they took the best action they could.

Intelligence is never black and white, human judgement is always needed to look for patterns, assess credibility, and determine how to responde to every “threat”. So in addition to this poll being nothing more than a survey of people’s trust in gov’t, I think it’s nearly certain that our intelligence community detected some signs that an attack was possible. Clearly they either missed or determined that whatever was known did not rise to the level of action that could have prevented 9/11. But I can’t fault them for that - the same thing probably happens every day.

The biggest factor in the attack being successful, IMHO, was the wall Clinton put up preventing law enforcement from communicating with intelligence.

I was on the Intel side at the time, and there was lots of chatter from the people who dun it about flying planes into buildings, but it was all in the Philippines and Europe. Law enforcement had info about aircraft being used for something in the USA.

If Intel and law had been allowed to communicate, the connection likely would have been made.

People are very prone to believing fantasies, if you don’t believe me, look how a large number believe that Democrats are benefactors of American society.

This is sort of a BS article, based on a BS “poll” but it points to the bigger problem of lost souls that now lap up any anti-govt screed.

This isn’t a ‘poll’ in any randomly sampled, statistical way. Sean Davis, the editor of The Federalist, simply asked the interweb point-blank what they believed happened on 9/11.

Right away, you have a sampling bias - not just people who follow Davis on twitter but all the trolls and DNC Sturmabteilung and other losers. You prolly had 7 normal folks responding to the bait.

3,000 respondents is a nice pool of responses, but it’s a polluted poll.

The other element at play is that a bigly number of people have lost their “trust” in govt since 2020. However, these lost souls now lap up any anti-govt screed or “conservative” fake news etc. They run with this nonsense, to their own detriment and making conservatives look stoopid.

Slay News has taken the award for News Toilet from Gateway Pundit - yesterday a posted article claimed that “Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates has launched a new project that seeks to introduce “maggot milk” into the food supply of the general public.” Except…that’s all BS;

Nonetheless, this tripe snagged 100+ replies.

The Federal Agencies are run by political appointees. A Political Hack ran the Executive Branch from January 1993 through January 2001. Similarly, there was minimal Putin mischief during January 2017 through January 2021. I wonder why?
