If You Don’t Want To Be Killed, Don’t Take Hostages
Critics of Israel now ask the usual dishonest question: Are four lives worth the alleged 200-plus Arabs who were lost rescuing them?
Israel is the only nation on earth that is tasked with protecting its own people and its enemies. Every innocent lost life is, of course, a tragedy. But if you don’t want to be placed in harm’s way, don’t hold hostages in your homes and neighborhoods, and don’t cheer and support a government that puts your life in constant danger for a lost cause. This is the reality of the world.

Sound advice, which a terrorist supporting civilian population will sadly ignore.
If You Don’t Want To Be Killed, Don’t Take Hostages

I don’t care what city or country you name. If some group takes hostages, the government will send in the SWAT team or some type of military commando unit. They will try to negotiate their release, but eventually if they are not released the government is going to go in heavy and take out the kidnappers. This is what will happen in practically every country on earth except maybe a few spots where there is civil war and no functioning government.
A small percentage of Gaza are Hamas and fighters. The vast percentage of Gaza support Hamas and thus are part of the war machine. They have been raised from birth on hatred of Israel and Jews. A military can not function without the support of the civilian population that grows the food, makes the arms and provides young indoctrinated men and women to take up arms. It is sad this is such but this makes them legitimate targets.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki had some but not much military significance. It was mostly civilian. In effect it was a terror raid. We demonstrated to the Japanese that we were willing and capable of destroying their total society and millions if they did not surrender. It worked and oddly saved Japanese society and millions on our side if we had invaded Japan with conventional weapons and troops. They were prepared to fight to the end but the atomic bomb changed their minds.
If you are not willing to kill your enemy and all that stand with him, “surrender for he has already defeated you.” “Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war.”
