Sen. Tim Scott appears determined to take himself out of the running to be Donald Trump’s vice-presidential pick.
In an interview on CNN’s State of the Union with host Jon Karl, Scott said he stood by his decision to certify the 2020 presidential election, despite widespread evidence of voter fraud that tipped the election in Biden’s favor.
Here is a transcript of the exchange:
JON KARL: OK. Senator, the day before that violent mob attacked the Capitol, you put out a statement explaining your decision to certify Joe Biden’s election victory.
Do you stand by that? You were not one of those that challenged the results. You voted to certify Biden’s election victory. Do you stand by that?
SCOTT: Certainly. I will stand by that decision
...... Snip.......
KARL: All right, and very quickly, we’re just about out of time, but you had said that Mike Pence absolutely did the right thing when he defied Donald Trump’s demand to — to not certify that election. Do you still stand by that, that Pence absolutely did the right thing on January 6th?
SCOTT: The Constitution is clear. What we’re trying to focus on is how do we make sure we get four more years where the American people, particularly kids like me, growing up in poverty, have the best future we could possibly have.

Only Arizona and Pennsylvania had objections lodged by Congress.
That was instantly stopped.
How is that I watched the debates in each chamber on television?
I believe Vice President Al Gore did the right thing in certifying the 2000 election instead of accepting an alternate slate of Florida electors.
No you don’t! I vehemently oppose political correctness, identity politics, etc. My statement has nothing to do with that. I am more than aware that all people are racists & capable of all wrongs. It’s not a binary choice between politically correct, hypocritical, anti-racists that advocate counter racism versus empty headed morons who actually believe God created lesser human beings based on skin color & getting a kick out of broadcasting their stupidity. In case you haven’t noticed, we need every vote available, including brown & black ones, in order to save this country. There are promising signs of just those sort of votes being up for grabs. Do you ever consider that some of those people may read your comments & be made to feel unwelcome & lose their vote to leftists all because you say things to make them feel alienated. I believe you have every constitutional right to say anything racist, that doesn’t mean just because you can, you should
sanguine
just like the 2020 version of the RNC
utterly uninterested in knowing jack **** about the obviously unprecedented degree of vote/election fraud
the subsequent cover-up was similarly never-before-seen in terms of its size/scale
no wonder nobody’s dropping dime as you would apparently prefer they do
newsflash: nobody’s gonna wrap it up in a pretty red bow and hand it to lazy prosecutors or corrupt AGs
(I believe you have every constitutional right to say anything racist)
Pointing out Tim Scott is a minority isn’t racist. It’s being realistic and truthful.
What’s the purpose of pointing it out other than to attatch some negative quality & his skin color. You have every constitutional right to do it. I will defend to the death for anyone’s right to say it. But believing we have a right is a completely different thing than thinking it’s a good idea when attempting to elect conservatives, win elections & bring in more voters, new voters & from demographics showing signs of desiring a different philosophy. I will fully admit to saying bigoted things in private because I believe everyone does, but doing it in the open is self-defeating in a political forum. What’s the end game? You want to make a snotty racial aspersion more than winning over a black or brown voter that you could form a coalition with based on the Constitution, traditional values, limited government, a freer market & American patriotism 🤔🫡
The Republicans are on the same side as the Democrats. Scott is admitting that plainly here. Usurpation cannot be beaten if you ignore it.
Somebody must have been advised that they will NOT be the VEEP candidate for Donald and decided to have a tantrum.
Dumb thing to do. Regardless of what he believes, it is foolish to say something so greatly at odds with what much of our constituency believes.
And no, Pence did not do the right thing. He did the backstabbing coward thing.
I suspect some group finds ways to blackmail them and then own them ever after.
Too many times do I see decent people go to Washington DC just to be converted to supporting the agenda of, and spewing propaganda for, the DC deep state.
We know J.Edgar Hoover kept files on Congressmen and Senators. I believe that practice has continued and they use it to blackmail Senators and Congressmen into doing what DC wants.
Yes it is. The president of the Senate has *CONTROL* over the proceedings. He can exercise judgment and discretion as to the legitimacy of what he is about to do.
Pence was a coward and did the wrong thing.
The very least I expect him to do is to *REFUSE* to participate in a clearly corrupt process.
He could have walked out. He didn't he *HELPED* the Democrats steal the election. He gave legitimacy to that nasty corrupt installation of a dictator.
Absolutely not. That gutless coward could have simply refused to participate and by doing so he could have characterized the incoming corrupt Biden administration as tainted in the way it so badly deserved to be seen.
That stupid backstabbing bastard gave LEGITIMACY to that nasty, evil, corrupt administration.
Get out the vote. The Dems are good at it. Republicans...not so much.
Stop. Just stop. Biden did not win 81 million votes. His corrupt immoral supporters and their party machine *FABRICATED* about 20 million votes, and especially fabricated votes in the swing states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona and Nevada.
Those of us who have been reading the articles regarding all the evidence of corrupt elections for the last four years are aware of just how badly rigged the 2020 election was.
Trump got the highest *REAL* vote total of any president in History, and that nasty, ugly, stupid, corrupt piece of sh*t got 6 million more?
No he didn't.
Yes it does. He presides over the process, and the constitution specifically tasks him with a duty to insure it is legitimate.
Would George Washington accept obviously corrupt election results? No. No one of that era would have rolled over like a little bitch and accepted corrupt election results.
Only backstabbing cowards like Pence would have done such a thing. Real men would not do it.
JON KARL: OK. Senator, the day before that violent mob attacked the Capitol...
***********
Scott easily could have said “Lets’ move on...I’m looking forward to fixing the problems the country is facing in the future”. Or anything along those lines. Karl was baiting him and Scott was foolish enough to take the bait.
This! Pence wasn't brave. He was a backstabbing coward. He didn't have the guts to fight the corrupt system. He didn't even have the guts to walk out.
I started reading this, and I thought to myself, another person shilling for the other side, and then I looked down at the name, and see one of the usual suspects.
The fraud was massive. Those of us who have read about it have some idea of just how massive the fraud was. Others like you, ignore the evidence and just keep parroting the propaganda that the corrupt power structure of DC wants people to believe.
I’m just stating what should be the obvious - if you want to overturn an election, it will have to be in a court of law, and in a US court of law, people are rightfully assumed to be innocent, until sufficient evidence is presented that proves their guilt.
There’s no doubt that some unusual things were going on, and I was tracking them here as well as anyone (check my posting history in Nov/Dec 2020), but what is your very best “smoking gun” hard evidence the election was stolen?
What would have happened had he tried? What is the downside of doing the right thing?
