After Trump, Will U.S. Lawmakers be Charged for $17M in Hush Money?

Are various members of Congress, who paid some $17 million in taxpayer funds to silence people who brought sexual misconduct claims against them, now going to be investigated, tried, and convicted of felonies, like President Trump? After all, they didn’t report those payments as campaign contributions.

That’s the suggestion that has been raised in a congressional hearing.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s case against President Donald Trump over business reporting issues, described as a “hush money” case because of testimony from ex-porn star Stormy Daniels, likely will be overturned, witnesses have told Congress.

And given the multiple constitutional errors allowed by Judge Juan Merchan, whose daughter is a Democrat activist and was fundraising off her father’s courtroom decisions during the trial, one member has defined what the entire exercise was about:

Thank you Thomas Massie, for pointing out this obvious
“comparable” with Bragg’s fraudulent case against Trump.

I am curious why no one else in the GOP Congressional Caucus did, even though I’m constantly told that Massie is seeking to undermine Trump?

Where is disclosure of which elected officials had payouts on their behalf. That much information does not violate the alledged privacy of the recipient. I thought we had senators and representatives promising disclosure?

Will the Trump prosecutors that did not prosecute this be charged as accomplices after the fact? I see smack down SWAT raids. Lethal force approved.

How can it even be legal to use “taxpayer funds” to pay hush money for members of Congress Seems like that should be viewed as a scandal and made illegal. And names released.

Message: According to NY DA Alvin Bragg, Congress’s $17M tax-funded
sexual misconduct “hush money” fund is a campaign-finance violation.

Rep. Thomas Massie highlights that Congress’s hush money payments would be considered campaign finance violations under Alvin Bragg’s novel theory used to target President Trump.

“Congress has paid over $17 million in hush money for sexual misconduct inside of the offices in these buildings. And what’s more, is that it was taxpayer money. The allegation is that President Trump paid $130,000 of his own money.

But here in Congress, there might be some here on this dais who had the taxpayer pay for their sexual misconduct charges. And I do know that not a single penny of it has been turned in as a campaign finance expense.”

Former FEC Commissioner Trey Trainor explains that Alvin Bragg’s novel interpretation of the law does not align with “normal campaign finance law.”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey points out that the Trump verdict will likely be overturned after the 2024 election, citing constitutional violations, due process issues, and prosecutorial misconduct.

Rep Thomas Massie asserts, “The irony here is that DA Bragg Trump’s trial was plainly focused on trying to influence the 2024 election.”

If they do, it will be limited to Republicans only, Because the Republicans must receive the message that they are no longer welcome in politics, and Republican supporters are on longer blessed with government positions. It's, from now on, a Democrats only allowed government, from top to bottom.

All others need not apply.

Yes. And what about the entire media establishment banning any mention of Hunter Biden in 2020.

How were those bans not huge campaign contributions.

Yeah, they’ll get right on that.....

Right after they pass term-limits, ban insider trading and salary cuts on themselves.

Imagine how easy it would be for Congress critters to arrange kickbacks to themselves with a willing "victim". And it would never be caught.

Congress exempted itself from FOIA.

Doing what they can to protect themselves. One should really wonder why the got rid of Santos and Cawthorne, no matter what anyone thinks.

Cute.

But if we were serious about justice, war crimes trails would have higher priority.

If the names are released the deep state won’t be able to blackmail them.
