Their being recognized as a country is NOT them initiating conflict.Well, I suppose Britain initiated the war by giving away land that didn't belong to them.

That may be, but Hamas is directly responsible for the deaths of far, far, far more Gazan civilians than Israelis, and Hamas officials don’t care about that fact, it’s just more martyrs to them.
