“NATO allies are inching closer to sending troops into Ukraine to train Ukrainian forces, a move that would be another blurring of a previous red line and could draw the United States and Europe more directly into the war,” the newspaper wrote.
Journalists add that Ukraine lacks the resources to train its troops, and the situation on the battlefield has worsened due to the Russian offensives. Consequently, Ukrainian officials have asked their U.S. and NATO counterparts for help in training 150,000 soldiers closer to the front lines for quicker deployment.
The United States refused to send even military advisers to Ukraine urges its NATO allies to follow suit. At the same time, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Charles Brown thinks the decision to deploy military trainers is ultimately “inevitable.”
“We’ll get there eventually, over time,” the report quotes Brown.
The article notes that moving training to Ukrainian territory, as military officials acknowledge, would allow U.S. instructors to gather real-time information about innovations happening battlefield, potentially improving their training programs.

It wasn’t much practice, they probably got more when President Trump had our troops in Ukraine.
you are the liar
anyone (except dishonorably discharged) can leave US military service and return
I served in-country for a year, 1967-68, including during the Tet Offensive. And spent 8 months off the coast supporting USMC landings in I Corps. I don’t need to read about it. I lived it.
Yes, I know the Soviets and Chinese participated in direct combat against us as pilots and operating ant-aircraft missile batteries. But those were not overt participation in the war. They didn’t trigger retaliatory strikes against the Soviets or China, which would have risked a major confrontation in Asia and Europe. We didn’t attack North Korea when they seized the USS Pueblo in 1968 killing one crew member and holding the rest hostage for 11 months.
If we get directly involved fighting Russians on the ground in Ukraine, it would be a significant escalation. All bets would be off when it comes to where it will lead. The technology has made such a confrontation more lethal and far- reaching. Do you have confidence in the judgement of the fools and knaves who are currently leading us, including our compromised, feeble President? Biden, Nuland, Sullivan, Blinken, et.al., got us involved in Ukraine in 2014. This war has been ongoing for ten years.
The South Vietnamese fought on for almost two years after US combat troops left the country. They held their own until Congress cut off funding and arms. The NVA violated the Paris Peace Accords with no consequences. A sad chapter in our history and a terrible waste of blood and treasure. We never lost a major battle but lost the peace.
We should have learned our lesson from these endless wars from Vietnam to Afghanistan to Ukraine. We are weaker as a result. The voluntary military resurrected morale after Vietnam, but now our woke military is having recruitment and retention problems. The Dems are hell bent on destroying all of our institutions. Sad.
That would be a normal discharge, they are no longer in the military, by the way, could you just “resign” when you were in? Also, being able to reenlist is not guaranteed just because you are a vet.
Post 4 wasn’t describing merely ex-service veterans, it was the American military supplying active duty GIs.
“”The US allows active military members to ‘resign’, go to Ukraine and ‘serve’, return to the US and re-enter the military. There are ‘work-arounds’.””
How about they train the hundreds of thousands of Uke men of fighting age who are in neighboring countries?
There are lots of them!
Evil is endless, blood and treasure are not. The US is the world’s largest debtor nation.
So we just give up and let it overwhelm us? Seriously?
Are you saying it isn’t happening ?
that there aren’t ‘work-arounds’ in progress ?
if so, you are even more naive than I knew
who the hell do you think is operating all the high tech weapons against Russia other than NATO military service members ?
“”The US allows active military members to ‘resign’, go to Ukraine and ‘serve’, return to the US and re-enter the military. There are ‘work-arounds’.””
Quit claiming it and post your sources.
If NATO was sensible, they would be sitting down with Putin, bringing along some bargaining chips (possible trade deals, guarantees of secure borders for everyone, etc.) and hammer out a peace deal.
And if they were really smart, they would find a way to have Donald Trump mediate the deal!
typical of your dishonesty,
was that my post?
Post after post you keep claiming post 4 is true.
Post after post, after post of you just wasting time and avoiding posting the sources of the fake claim.
What a BS excuse to get us involved. They don’t need training. What they have been able to do with what little was provided is just short of a miracle. They could train NATO in some tricks.
I never claimed post 4 is true (even though it is) it is your dishonesty that says so
You are just posting nothing but the time wasting troll routine.
You’re always full of that “troll” bullSchiff when you’ve got nothing
sorry,not, you lose OsamaBidementia neoCon
We choose our battles wisely. We are not the world’s policeman. Great empires/nations implode.
What in hell don't you understand about that?
Zeepers are the dumbest people on earth.
