Whatever U.S. Elites Are Defending In Ukraine, It Isn’t Democracy
The Federalist ^ | 15 May 2024 | Jason Walsh

It’s getting harder and harder to pretend the war in Ukraine, now in its third year, is about “defending democracy,” as our political elites in Washington insist.

This is especially true when Secretary of State Antony Blinken shows up in Ukraine to deliver billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund the war, proclaims that Ukraine’s scheduled presidential elections this spring are canceled until “conditions allow” (Ukraine has not held elections since 2019), and then jaunts off to a popular Kyiv nightclub to play a boomerish cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin’ in the Free World.”

That actually happened this week.

Why would Zelenskyy have to blackmail anybody, when he only needs to back channel a percentage of money sent to the Ukraine back to politician bank accounts?

Idiocy, Ukraine has had free and fair elections resulting in a new person elected as president every election cycle.

Yes, except for the 2004 coup, the 2014 coup, the 2015 special election to replace the coup regime, and the cancelled 2024 election.

“What will Zelensky’s title be when his term ends in a few days?”

What it has been for years... the Raging Queen. Him and Pelosi are tight like that.

So Spain once had a coup, so every free election since then is illegitimate? Idiocy

Big oil and investment houses, that are striping Ukraine of resources, for pennies on the dollar.

The UK was under the same sort of regime in WW2.
It was a coalition cabinet under Churchill and no elections were held from 1940-45. The last general election was in 1935. The election due in 1940 was skipped.

Obviously therefore the US should have supported Hitler.

"The main takeaway from the cancellation of elections in Ukraine is that the permanent regime in Washington doesn’t really want free and fair elections in Ukraine right now for the same reason they don’t really want free and fair elections here in America: The voters might get in the way of their agenda, and they can’t have that."

The money line.

USA should have stayed out of it. The UK is a muzzie fascist state now. In a way, Hitler won after all.

“USA should have stayed out of it. The UK is a muzzie fascist state now. In a way, Hitler won after all.”

That is very much a minority opinion.

And that of the UK, today, being a “muzzie fascist state” is plain hysteria.

Hysteria.
Your link covers several years, 2010-2013, reported in 2016.

And how many of these reports covered the crackdown on the then intense Islamist propaganda? It reached a peak in the ISIS years of 2014-2017.

There simply arent enough Muslims, certainly not believing Muslims, in the UK. The vast majority of immigrants to the UK arent Muslim btw.

This type of hysteria is reinforced by highly selective reading of the news. Counterfactuals and the much more prevalent state of normality are ignored.

Now, we haven’t been in the UK since 2012. The state of the place then seemed calm, orderly, and non-oppressive. Someone on FR has certainly been there more recently. Maybe you should post a vanity asking about the current truth on the ground.

The war would have never started, if Clinton hadn’t convinced them to give up their nuclear weapons.
