I still think fiber lines are more robust than radio or wires for distance communications. EMP proof from the long distance aspect.

The source expects Starlink to become profitable this year.

Not very good reviews on Starlink’s non-iOS/ Android service. I’m trying to get rid of CommieCast/xfinity at $275/month, and get something more affordable, but nothing around worth a crap. Condo’s HOA rules prohibit unsightly dishes, except in rear yards.

Lots of people in Alaska re using it. Even people in more urban locations. I think as soon as they start doing mobile phones along with it, I will make the move. Imagine a mobile phone that you can use virtually anywhere on the plant. Amazing!

Starlink is great. I’m song it right now. 2 TV’s streaming and several people watching videos on their phone.

Elon has his own worldwide distribution system and it’s not just for supplying a net connection. I’m amazed “they” let him build it.

Just starting my third year on Starlink, and since the only other alternative is wireless and Starlink is two orders of magnitude faster, it really isn’t a difficult choice. So far it’s been outstanding, and I do not have an ideal location. It was intended for exactly this sort of rural, underserved market.

There is a certain point where so many objects are in orbit that a single collision creates a chain reaction of destruction.

Re: "it might be an investment worth considering"

Might be - but no SpaceX or StarLink public stock is available for small investors.

If StarLink eventually spins off as a private company, buying the StarLink Initial Public Offering (IPO) would be a 50-50 gamble, because of the huge pro-and-con Elon Musk connection.
