It’s the symbolism that’s important.
They were at the end of their service life 30 years ago but if it works , LOL
People on the Left tend to value symbolism over substance.
“… typically hold 13 rounds. They are forbidden in Canada.”
But 12 is OK. But at 13 rounds?! My gosh! That’s just totally irresponsible, it’s a menace to society! No Canadian in their right mind would feel safe having a doughnut at a Tim Horton’s knowing guns with 13 rounds is as a plentiful as hockey pucks at Maple Leafs game. Only super-duper-extra-special trained military are capable of safely wielding a 9mm with a 13th round. For the sake of the cilllrunnnnn, please confiscate all these military grade dangerous weapons today!
Leftist governments are always terrified of guns in the hands of citizens.
Yep. Imagine where we’d be right now in America without private ownership of guns.
You are close. 10 rounds is the limit in Canada.
***The murder was committed by Gamil Rodrigue Garbi, who changed his name to Marc Lépine***
I remember that! Marc Lepine! Years later I found he was a moslem of Algerian descent whose actual name was Gamil Rodrigue Garbi. My what the news media hid from us back then!
He used a Ruger mini-14, not an E-e-e-vil AR-15 A-s-s-ault rifle!
Browning Hi-Power! My favorite pistol! Bought my first in 1968. Wish I still had it. Have a Hungarian replacement now.
If the Canadian government hates the pistol so much why not just destroy the magazines and sell the pistol! Or the magazine can be blocked to ten or less rounds! They will bring VERY HIGH prices at any US Gun show even if wore out!
But then, symbolism over substance in destroying them! Much like the Brady Bunch destroying A-s-s-ault rifles years ago using a steam roller. The rifles were so tough they had to go over them several times.
I guess shipping them to the US to be sold to the public never occurred to to them.
I watch a lot of BBC cop shows. The cops treat handguns like nuclear warheads. One handgun cordoned off a whole street, thirteen “Armed Police” come rushing in to take control of this one gun. You get the picture. Sad.
I read where they blocked off an entire street because thy found one .22 rimfire cartridge lying on the ground.
I’m sure that all of the criminals obey that law to the letter.
It should be obvious to all that canadians have ingested too much maple syrup as a society which has addled their brains.
One of my most prized pistols is a Belgian made Hi Power. Beautiful gun and it shoots like a dream.
L
Agreed- although maple syrup is very addictive lo,
I inherited 2 Chinese contract Inglis Mark 1 Hi-Powers, both with the original wood stocks. Neither has ever been fired. LOL, They will be helping to fund my retirement in a few more years.
I have a High Standard HD Military heavy barrel in .22 my great grandad gave me, the serial number makes it out as a 1945 model. It still shoots great. Love it. I was told it’s the same model that Frances Gary Powers used on his flights.
I shot one of those in college competition 50 years ago...
As collectibles, they should hold their value. I beleive they are on the curio and relic list, so no special paperwork is necessary. Of course, any paperwork showing their history could add to their value.
