Many years ago I went to a talk given by G. Gordon Liddy. One of the things he said was yes, the federal government will kill someone they perceive as a threat.

I don’t know if that applies here. And G. Gordon was often overly dramatic. But if he was exaggerating, it probably wasn’t by much.
