South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem (R) is at the center of a controversy following a report from The Guardian about her admission in an upcoming book that she shot and killed her family’s 14-month-old hunting dog, Cricket, and a goat after a series of aggressive incidents.
The book, “No Going Back: The Truth on What’s Wrong with Politics and How We Move America Forward,” paints a stark picture of the hard choices Noem has faced in her personal life and political career.
In the book, Governor Noem describes a troubling incident where Cricket, a wirehair pointer, displayed uncontrollable behavior during a hunting trip, leading to the dog attacking chickens and attempting to bite Noem.

She made the right decision to shoot her dog?
She couldn't find the dog a new home with an owner who was not interested in the dogs hunting skills and who did not have goats?
This goes to judgement, problem solving skills and possibly a vindictive personality.
I am generally favorable to her job performance as Gov but there have been troubling hints some issues regarding her judgment and her approach to dealing with issues in the past.
She would be a risk and potential loose cannon as Trumps VP choice and she really brings nothing to the ticket.
She comes from a small state that is already in the bag for Trump and while she is a woman, she alienates the very female demographic that Trump is trying to build bridges with.
A dog that is aggressive toward family members and has gone on a chicken-killing rampage after showing itself untrainable is NOT a re-homing candidate. A billy goat that attacks is also a dangerous animal.
When you have a proven dangerous animal, you deal with it humanely and quickly.
You got it.
Precisely!
(This goes to judgement, problem solving skills and possibly a vindictive personality.)
Absolute rubbish! She did the right thing using pure logic.
As I said in a previous thread, pence has a better chance of being vp than she does
“The story was leaked.”
The book is not yet published. The dog killing is a snippet. We need to see what else she has to say.
Goat is supposed to be good eating. Starting to like this Gov.
I have ZERO issue with putting down a dog that has been killing other animals and biting at humans.. ZERO.
Insane panty wastes getting upset over this are useless, and show just how weak we are.
If they had their way, Old Yeller would just maul the family to death, because how can we put a “pet” down... how cruel.
Insanity.
No wonder murderers and rapists walk free, no one is willing to stand up an do the right thing, because it hurts their feelings.
Yup, time to stop digging, Governor.
Tell me, when was the last time a Politician’s stories weren’t self serving?
It’s her story of her bravery and “leadership.” That dog gets meaner with each retelling.
It’s like harmless snakes are always Copperheads, and every 80lb black bear running away was a danger to the idiot holding the Gun.
What is rule #1 when you find yourself in a hole?
STOP DIGGING.
I think Jill Biden should put Joe down...
You vote for her because she shoots dogs.
Michael Vick was a “Leader” too.
Not to mention the greed of selling a book, any book for $$$.
Funniest response I saw: (paraphrased)
Kristi forgot the three Ss: Shoot, Shovel, Shut up.
No matter what she says or doesn’t say she’s going to be attacked for something. Anyone who gets offended by this are soy people who would never vote for her anyways.
Definitely the type of situation where it is appropriate to apply the SSS rule.
I still get a </chuckle> out of that one...

I don’t know enough details about killing a dog, but since she supported killing girls’ sports in SD, she’s not the one for Trump. Regardless of her looks, Trump can do better.
Let me guess, Noem is playing 3-D chess and we can’t hope to understand her brilliance.
Nuff said.
