Anybody know what “his side” was?
In the Czech Republic, they still revere Jan Palach, who self-immolated in 1969 to protest the Soviet Invasion of Czechoslovakia.

Give a protester a fire, and warm him for a day.
Light a protester on fire, and warm him for the rest of his life.
What exactly did the Buddhists in Vietnam accomplish by self-immolation? They increased the emotions of people and led to some in the country wanting to escalate the war and deaths. Famous monk one (Thich Quang Duc on June 11, 1963) was to protest the pro-US South Vietnam regime.
I never realized so many others did the self-immolation thing:

I’ll set myself on fire that will start a revolution ,D’oh
I just want to start a flame in your heart.
Arab Spring
The Tunisian spark
On December 17, 2010, a young Tunisian who sold vegetables from a barrow set himself afire to protest against police harassment.
Mohamed Bouazizi died on January 4, 2011, but not before his gesture went viral, sparking protests against the cost of living and the country’s authoritarian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
Today people are sexually mutilating themselves to protest against nature assigning specific genders.
I’ve gathered that he was a Bernie supporter (no pun intended) and thought that Trump and Biden were acting together. Or something like that.
I can respect that even though it did not stop a single Soviet tank from entering Prague.
On the Documenting reality website they have the unedited photos of this guy after the fire was put out. I’m surprised he was still alive, it looks like he had 3rd to 4th degree burns to 100% of his body which is not surprising being that his entire body was on fire for what seemed forever. The video is horrific, he just burns and burns and burns and people are just watching.
From the Wiki article:
It was not so much in opposition to the Soviet occupation, but the demoralization which was setting in, that people were not only giving up, but giving in. And he wanted to stop that demoralization. I think the people in the street, the multitude of people in the street, silent, with sad eyes, serious faces, which when you looked at those people you understood that everyone understands, that all the decent people were on the verge of making compromises.
Well he sure "Felt the Bern".
Too soon?
Hey, he got what he wanted. (I wonder if he will be cremated)...
The cremation should be quite a deal if it’s pro-rated.
Yep, I can't get to work on time so I guess I'm going to have to come around to their point of view on whatever that is.
