Thanks, he was just another GI that enlisted after Pearl Harbor. Went in as a Private. Came out as a Staff Sargent.
He was promoted in battle to Captain for a day. I guess all the LT’s were either injured or dead. As was the Cpt.
He was the senior SGT. Next day it was back to normal rank.
