Huh..What are you smoking I don’t know a single person in their 70s that could hump a full battle rattle a quarter mile in mild conditions without having a cardiac event. I do know and regularly work out with 50 year olds that absolutely can hump a full battle rattle miles in the Texas heat. There also dating 25 to 35 year olds alpha males are a commodity in ourselves. My spouse is 20 years younger than me and in peak condition she you can pick up a rifle 200+ rounds , full level 4 plates and take it to the field. None of the people I know 60+ can do any of that not one. Let alone 70s and 80 get real. Resistance is going to need genX millennial and genZ in spades it’s fantasy otherwise.

So what is the battle value of the 70+yo armed citizen con permiso. It seems as if there are very many 70+yo armed citizens on FR. This is just demographic impression, not pejorative. But if true what is their battle value? Answering the question, perhaps it is as a rearguard behind the lines guerilla resistance. These folks would then be slowing down military boots-on-ground control of urban, suburban and rural areas (each probably IMHO requiring differing skill sets). Accordingly it might be the type of position in which the expected survival rate might be very low. The value would perhaps be in slowing down the adversary, and slowing down the adversary would in theory be advantageous in a higher level strategic sense. (All of this is of course entirely hypothetical in nature and not specific to any given nation.)

Which rounds? 308s and beyond are heavy (or so I have heard from previous discussions here and there). M16s allegedly jam. 22s? 9mms? other??
