Ron DeSantis has been going full force to win the title of 'BEST GOVERNOR IN THE NATION' since dropping out of the Presidential race and his latest should push him over the top in that fictional contest we just made up. :)
He announced the signing of NEW laws in Florida that target child sexual abusers. We are positive the Left is going to try and spin this somehow like they did with 'Don't Say Gay' which had nothing to do with saying the word gay. We are not sure why the Left thinks putting down things that protect kids is the way to win over hearts and minds but they seem to be on the opposite side of common sense at every turn when it comes to children.
They want to have children read what can only be described as porn in classrooms, they wanted to keep kids out of school despite evidence it was harmful during COVID, they want to keep parents out of the conversation regarding gender at school, and we are positive they will find some way to pretend that harsher penalties for exploitation of children are somehow an attack on some 'marginalized' community.

YES! There needs to be a crack down on ALL things related to child exploitation and child sexual abuse and it needs to be done in EVERY STATE!

We agree!! Every state should look at added protections for our children. It would be nice if they all wanted to protect them from harmful medical procedures when they are confused and not gone through puberty as well but that does not seem to be something the Left is interested in.

Are you talking about the same Trump that wanted DeSantis to go easy on the pedos at Disney because Disney was a contributor to the GOP? The 1.2m Republican voters in Florida were added under DeSantis because he has made Florida a beacon of freedom and sanity.
BTW, DeSantis often calls out the Dims on their policies. You knew that but you needed something to try to slam him. If DeSantis says too much about national issues he’s accused of running a “shadow campaign” against Trump and if he doesn’t say something he is accused of not supporting Trump or the “Republican cause”. Some of the Trump tribe here on FR are like perpetually angry Dhimmicrats with PMS that can’t be satisfied.

Though I would agree with your sentiments to a certain extent - this article is taking this over the top - not exactly something that was probably difficult or controversial to push through the legislature and get it to his desk like it was a big battle waged and he prevailed over major opposition.
Are you talking about the same DeSantis that had a national debate stage numerous times and barely uttered a peep about the important issues to GOP voters?
The guy who was the obvious successor to MAGA and was 7/2 third betting choice to be 2024 POTUS until he ran the worst campaign in US history in a primary that was over three years ago?
It can’t be the same guy that Trump insured complete GOP control of the state he happens to govern and yet when it comes to anything from valuing Mar a Lago to Floridian J6ers rotting in the gulag he says largely nothing?

Now he claims this legislation does nothing as well.
