“If you are conservative, you will read this and say, duh, it’s always been this way. But it hasn’t.”
I actually AGREE with that. Listened heavily decades ago and they would often run stories that were favorable to our side, meaning unbiased, such as reporting on the Neocon carpet bombing of Serbian civilian targets, or how it was next to impossible to verify Clinton Administration claims against the Serbs in the early conflicts of post-Communist Yugoslavia.
But the Democrats now see no need to put up with reporting that differs, in any way, from their party-line, so that’s it for NPR, as far as I’m concerned.
“Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views.” - William F. Buckley, Jr
I agree. I used to listen occasionally when I was on a trip in the car. NPR has always seemed biased toward the left to me, but it was occasionally at least tolerable. The last several years, though, have gone off the rails. With their treatment of Trump and the pandemic, I called it quits completely.
True. Twenty, 30 years ago there was some good journalism, and lots of interesting, apolitical stories and features. Days long gone...
The only people who think Clinton was a neocon are far left freaks and Russiabots.
It’s been a couple decades since I’ve listened as well. It wasn’t really balanced, but tolerable back then.
