“Uri BERLINER”
Sounds like reason number one to not trust NPR.
So, basically, NPR was the first version of Tik Toke with influencers to tell the ignorant audience how and what to think and what to say. Moronic Tik Tokers.
“Ich bin ein Berliner”..............I am a Jelly Donut!...............
Second mistake: Feminism.
State run media is never trustworthy.
“If you are conservative, you will read this and say, duh, it’s always been this way. But it hasn’t.”
I actually AGREE with that. Listened heavily decades ago and they would often run stories that were favorable to our side, meaning unbiased, such as reporting on the Neocon carpet bombing of Serbian civilian targets, or how it was next to impossible to verify Clinton Administration claims against the Serbs in the early conflicts of post-Communist Yugoslavia.
But the Democrats now see no need to put up with reporting that differs, in any way, from their party-line, so that’s it for NPR, as far as I’m concerned.
Indeed.
NPR was the firt UniParty mouth organ.
It’s redundant now that media consolidation has reached its zenith
The only rational decision about NPR is “when does it get defunded and shut down?”
Just ask China 🇨🇳, the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany 🇩🇪.
I’ll read the article in a little bit, but I lived in Houston when NPR first got started (I think around 1965), at first we thought it was great getting a 4th channel even though it was mysterious about the government creating one (the democrats controlled everything at the time), it wasn’t but a few years before we started seeing it as liberal and then hard core left.
I would never have let my kid watch sesame Street and such, never.
... and that is why it take you three pages of bloviation to report what could be reported in two sentences.
If you are conservative, you will read this and say, duh, it’s always been this way.
But it hasn’t.
Bull.
I’m sixty five and PBS has been full of crap for all of that time. That they managed to deal in stuff other than politics that people liked is immaterial. People who would take govt funding to report are fundamentally compromised.
There is no need for a ‘NPR’ or a ‘PBS’.
The radio and TV dials are full of every ideological and political stripe known to man...................
But what began as tough, straightforward coverage of a belligerent, truth-impaired president veered toward efforts to damage or topple Trump’s presidency.
Wow. Forest. Trees. This person can’t see the one for the other. Trump was neither belligerent nor truth impaired.
NPR, you didn’t “lose” our trust, you spit on it, stamped it, and shoved it to the gutter. You are now nothing but worthless collection of would-be journalists, laughed at by anyone with even a trace of common sense.
