Y-you mean Iran doesn’t like us anymore?
I do not disagree with you on Israel.
Gaetz has constituent promises to keep about the border.
He is far from being free as we are on the subject.
Sadly, Republicans have tied ourselves up in knots trying to negotiate with Democrats who refuse under all circumstances to make a "grand deal".
Democrats know their own existential priorities, and those are first and foremost, to keep our borders wide open to illegal immigrants -- the more the better they love it.
So, nothing can distract Democrats from their first priority -- not Ukraine, not Israel, not anything else Republicans might attempt to use as leverage against Democrats.
The only thing which can stop Democrats' insane policies is to vote them from power in November.
In the meantime, Republicans have tied ourselves up into the crazy position of appearing pro-Putin, anti-Ukraine, anti-Israel and who knows, maybe even anti-Taiwan -- seemingly just so we can gain leverage over Democrats regarding the US border.
It's a 100% wasted effort, will not succeed in anything except getting Republicans correctly blamed for hurting America's friends and allies in the world.
We simply cannot negotiate Democrats out of their own existential best interests.
We can only defeat them at the ballot boxes in November.
In the meantime, we should not knowingly abandon America's friends and allies in the world, because if we do, the negative consequences will be beyond our imaginations today.
Who in the House GOP were the geniuses that decided to hold up funds for peoples fighting for their existence in order to change a policy?
Rhetorical question. One that will cost the GOP the House at the least in Nov.
Bingo.
I would have supported a foreign aid / Southern border deal, but of course the democrats don’t care who dies or where, so long as they get their takeover off America.
This is what they did to California and they are close to achieving it nationwide.
I fear even Trump doesn’t plan enough deportations.

What you just wrote precisely defines and explains the paradoxical situation we Republicans have put ourselves into. Tying us up in a sitting duck situation, using our allies’ (Israel, Urkraine) catastrophic situation as leverage - against the Democrats.
Unfortunately, the Democrats have become fundamentalist fanatics, they prefer to die rather than protect America’s borders. Its crazy, but that’s how it is. Thus, the leverage we tried has failed... and now what?
In the meantime, the Kremlinists and Iran/Hamas are waging a general “war of replacment” against our allies, killing thousands upon thousands of innocent people.
We just can’t let this happen before our eyes anymore.
This is a moral issue.
Something must happen now.
So far Trump has been very careful, but a disaster would be if Ukraine falls and it’s blamed on Trump/ Republicans. And you know it will be.
Everything rides on a Trump victory. Trump will try to end the war quickly, and I accept however he tries to do it.
Trump will control the border.
So both problems can be managed, but only if we win this election.
Other than an act of G-d, the House will maintain its pro-Russia and pro-Hamas positions because they religiously believe some new law will change the Biden administration policy of not enforcing border laws.
Circular reasoning has always been a GOP strong suit.
Agreed.
I wonder how many other COngresscritters besides Chairman Johnson were given thousands of dollars by a Russian controlled company with at least one member a friend of Putin. I understand he gave the money back perhaps because it had become public knowledge. If there were other recipients of Russian favors who are voting anti Ukraine and anti Israel, it would be nice to find out so we can ask where their loyalties are.
