I would say to not pass judgment now, but to demand that they define ‘army values”.
Easier for these new officers to fight against deplorables and “insurrectionists” if they only have army values rather than ideas of honor and country.
I thought the addition of “build” was interesting.
I wonder if it refers to the “Build back better” that was first termed by Clinton, and then Obama and now Biden?
That - or robots.
In response to your "demand": the definition is reviewable on a "regular" basis and is subject to occasional "modernization".
The goal, "...leaders...committed to the Army Values and...a lifetime of service to the Army and Nation." leads the way to an oath that provides that service is due specifically to the Commander-in-Chief of that Army who is also the president of the Nation. See, for instance, the oath to the 1930's German Commander-in Chief and Chancellor.
Unfortunately, a simple phone call from someone in the CiC's office at the WH suffices to alter long-standing values and traditions. One wonders if Gen Miley had a hand in this modernization.
