The Carthaginians lived in Africa; however, they were CAUCASIANS!

I’d also add eunuchs and slaves in Arabia at about that time. Unfortunately those slaves under the Arabs were treated far worse than those in the Americas. Neither was any picnic though.

Sorry, but no black actors were available. They’re all working in TV commercials.

The Carthaginians were Berbers weren’t they? Not Negroes.

From the rather confusing way this article was written, I don’t know whether it is Flavin or Blackthorne asking this.

Sorry, but no black actors were available. They’re all working in TV commercials. As mixed-race couples.

I ask the question now that I naively didn't ask in 1980. Where are the Black people? If you mean Africans they are mostly in Africa or enslaved in the middle east.
If you just mean non-Orientals with a skin tone darker then a paper bag check out India and Polynesia.
At that time if you were not Japanese you were pretty much not allowed in Japan. The Anui kept in the background even though they were more Japanese than the currently ruling ethnotype because they were different. And this was not a time to be different in Japan.

No! Carthage was settled originally by Phoneicians a Semitic people living on the coast of where Lebanon is today. Phoneicia founded cities all over the Mediterranean coast.

NO! The best guess ( by "experts" on this matter ) is that they were Phoenicians.
