Just once I want it to not be overcast so I can get a good view of the Northern Lights.

The press has lost so much credibility I don’t really believe this story.

I’m not sure how unusual this really is, but I’m suspecting that this is fear porn to make $$.

I’m more apt to believe that an asteroid is coming dangerously close to earth, as we hear every week.

“Flares of this magnitude are not frequent,”
They just tend to happen during a USA election bump.

Meh, credibility is gone. Brings to mind the Little Boy Who Cried Wolf too much.
There are so many reasons for the scum who are running the world to cook up covers for their rotten intentions.

Media: Quit talking about solar flares when talking about global warming. But solar flares are bad enough to mess everything else up.
LOL

What matters is we can blame it on Russia.

"The press has lost so much credibility I don’t really believe this story."
https://www.solarham.net/index.htm for Sun related info.

Good morning. Below is an updated look at the visible solar disk courtesy of the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO). Solar activity since the X6 solar flare around AR 3590 has been quieter with only C-Flares detected. Coronagraph imagery confirms that a CME was not associated with that event. The active region will be squarely facing Earth over the next week, so should an actual CME be produced at some point, it will likely be directed our way. Other than the radio blackouts within the high frequency spectrum (3-30Mhz), all three X-Flares detected within the past 48 hours had no other impacts on our planet. Elsewhere, AR 3575 is now back in view and was reassigned AR 3591. So far it looks to be stable and no longer a threat for major solar flares. New AR 3592 and 3593 were also assigned and appear stable for now.
It should be noted that a coronal hole is now facing Earth and an elevated solar wind stream should reach our planet within 72 hours.
Lastly, a minor (G1) geomagnetic storm watch is in effect for February 25th. This is the result of a filament eruption on Wednesday in the NW quadrant. The resulting CME appears to be headed well ahead of our planet, so my confidence in the forecast is low. A further update will be provided whenever necessary.

I guess you failed to understand.
To: guest7
They can't reliably predict the weather on this planet, locally, within 90%, and yet weather on a runaway fusion furnace 93 million miles away, that only seems to affect select cell providers, during an election season when one party is losing badly and wants to panic the low info voters...
OK...
