Folks need to understand what Ann Coulter is: She's a provocateur, a very intelligent, insightful, and thorough provocateur. But a media character none the less.

Her books are extraordinarily well researched, but she doesn't get in front of the camera for just pitching her books.

If she's not saying something incendiary, she's off the media's radar.
