apparently Morgana posted an article about Dallas Jenkins saying mormons are christians and the like.
I have gone back and forth in my mind about watching the Chosen, I mostly watch because my elderly dad enjoys it - we get the dvd and he can see the subtitles since his hearing is real bad. It;’s a little together time with him and repairing our mostly rocky relationship over the decades.
I choose to see The Chosen as any other bible based Christian movie - it’s got some bible base and some man made parts. THAT is what ALL christian movies have.
Those commenting about gay actors or whatever else people choose to say is wrong with the Chosen, why are they not bashing The 10 commandments or The Passion or every other Christina based film?
They are ALL “off” in some way!
I bet in various christian based movies were plenty of non believers who had all sorts of addictions and lifestyles but it just wasn’t publicized.
Get over your own self and realize GOD can use any thing to reach people, and do all sorts of good things, through anything. He got my attention through Christian tv that at the time everyone was saying was full of fraud preachers.
It’s been more than a decade and since that first time I turned it on I started really diving into learning and letting Him change me and use me for HIs purposes. I don’t have tv anymore but thank God all the time that He used what was available at the time to woo me and draw me in and save me when I finally asked Him.

I grew up with ‘Jesus Christ SUPERSTAR’ and now I regard that Movie as Very bad
Theologically.
The Chosen is engaging but a bit to much
Soap Opera. Three seasons in to it and me having the DVDs I’ve binge watched it twice and haven’t seen anything sinister.

Dallas has created a tremendous work that is driven thousands to follow Christ.
The common thread of many people is that after watching The Chosen, they are dusting off Bibles and reading with intense interest.
Anyone who does something great will be criticized.
And Dallas will make some mistakes .
I believe he did use a Mormon owned set to film the early episodes as the facility had all that was needed.
He has repeatedly stated he is an evangelical Christian.
