The NG is not and never has been the ‘moderne equivalent of state militias’. The state militias were independent of the federal government and could not be brought under federal control. In fact, several states have initiated ‘state militias’ independent of the NG.
Nah, they'll just activate the unit and send them to Sinai, KFOR, or crappy assignment in Iraq/Jordan/Syria.
Biden can do what he likes, what ever it is. We are about to go to war with Iran—He will have War Powers to do any rash act he wants. If anyone stands against him—he can send in the FBI, seize the Congress and arrest all GOP Congress critters for this charge or that—being MAGA Trump followers or anything he can make up. The Nation is DONE.
I wouldn’t rule out any of those possibilities.

And in fact, Texas is one of those states. I have started paperwork to join the Texas STATE Guard after retiring from the military in 1995. I challenge all others who live in Texas under the age of 70 to do the same.

I doubt that. Most of the "warriors" in the military are too busy getting sex-change surgery, trying to figure out which bathroom to use, engaging in homo activity, or suing for racial discrimination, etc.
There are very few "warriors" left in the military, and no real MEN want to enlist today. The military of the former USA is a joke, intentionally.
How is this possible when DC is not mentioned in the US Constitution, Art IV Sect 4 as a sovereign state, nor was it raised to that status by a Constitutional Convention? All the states have governors. DC has a mayor.
To correct the insanity put forth by Biden, the several States should send all their Fed illegal alien 'parolees' to DC for further processing of immigration in DC's political 'neutral' space.

That sounds to me like valid legal grounds for an impeachment.

Title 10 authorizes State NG’s federalization. However, if the Governor of a State doesn’t give approval of HIS NG being federalized, ( resistance), about the only thing the Federal Government can do is stop the spending on their military equipment and support, then try to move in and seize their assets. Knowing Texas,Texans, and NG members, good luck with the general population accepting that. Any move by senile Joe will undoubtedly be meet by extreme resistance by Texas citizens.
