Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

General of the SVR

Dear subscribers and guests of the channel! The double of Russian President Vladimir Putin gave a long interview to the notorious American journalist Tucker Carlson. It turned out funny. We are waiting to see what remains after installation. There is an assumption that barely half will remain. The customer is the Russian side, it’s up to them to decide.

This season is very applicable to what is going on in Russia, it is about Russians knowing that after fall they are no longer “the monster that keeps people awake”, loss of power, influence…..

You will recognize the behavior and thinking of many of the characters.

8 episodes and well worth it

[ Nice. A Huge Group of Russians Get Taken Into a Pocket ]

==
Day 711: Feb 04

Today, there is a lot of news from the Avdiivka direction.

But first of all, there is an important update from Crimea.

As you remember, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted a comprehensive combined strike on the peninsula.

Recently released satellite footage confirms that Russian claims about the interception of all missiles were untrue because the command center on the Belbek Air Base was completely wiped out.

Apart from the killed general, there are reportedly dozens of losses. Moreover, the Spokeswoman for the Ukrainian Southern Group of Forces reported that in the aftermath of the Ukrainian strike on the Russian missile-carrying corvette, approximately 40 Russian crew members were killed.

When it comes to the Avdiivka direction, the most intense clashes are taking place in the central part of the region.

The situation here was extremely confusing because, based on the geolocated footage, Russian soldiers were continuously spotted on the first streets of Avdiivka, while simultaneously Ukrainians were present on the main defense belts in front of these streets.

The Ukrainian fortifications here are quite formidable and helped to repel countless Russian attacks in this region.

The first line of fortifications is located between the railway and the highway and mostly consists of trenches. The second line is north of the railway and heavily relies on the bunker inside the embankment.

The last line is located around the Tsarska Okhota restaurant.

So, the presence of Russian forces on the streets of the town forced many analysts to conclude that Russians suddenly breached all these lines of defense and initiated urban fighting. Nonetheless, there was no footage of battle or convoys.

Instead, Russian sources continued publishing drone strikes on Ukrainian fortifications, implying that defenses were not breached.

A fighter from Avdiivka reported that the situation was stable, and the spotted groups of six to eight Russian soldiers were opportunistic sabotage groups, all of which were gradually hunted down.

Suddenly, the situation deteriorated significantly, and Ukrainian fighters in the Tsarska Okhota restaurant suffered an unexpected attack from behind.

As it turned out, Russians got lucky and discovered an old pipe that was once supposed to service the chemical plant or water filtration station, and found out that it reached the first streets of Avdiivka.

Russian sources later released a video about it, claiming that the pipe is two kilometers long and that they were using it for deploying troops.

That is why, at first, during the experimental stage, Russians only deployed small groups that Ukrainian soldiers dismissed as lucky sabotage groups.

And that is why later after the concept was proved, Russian forces reportedly sent a large assault group of 150 soldiers through the pipe into the Ukrainian rear.

In the aftermath of this big attack, Ukrainians were taken by surprise and forced out of their defense lines.

After the withdrawal, Ukrainians realized that the Russian garrison was relatively small and cut off from the mainland and started preparing for a counterattack.

In the meantime, Russian forces tried to assume as many houses in the residential area as possible while securing the pathway for friendly forces.

Understanding the weakness of the Russian position, Ukrainians were not afraid of using a lot of heavy equipment.

Combat footage shows that Ukrainians assaulted Russians with Bradley armored fighting vehicles.

Based on the geolocation, Ukrainians were operating near the bridge, implying that the main fortification of the Tsarska Okhota restaurant was retaken.

The fate of the other two lines of defense remained ambiguous, and both parties claimed control over them.

However, retaking the Tsarska Okhota restaurant was enough because, from here, Ukrainians managed to meet and completely demolish a Russian column that was supposed to reinforce Russians in the residential area.

Geolocated footage from Ukrainian drones shows the scattered remnants of the Russian column.

Simultaneously, Ukrainians assaulted the residential area. The operation here was much more difficult as it required clearing all houses.

Combat footage shows that Ukrainians were dropping heavy anti-tank mines from drones, as well as attacking Russians with tanks, reducing the occupied houses to ruins with high-explosive shells.

Complete eradication of the enemy was not achieved, so the region is constantly shelled.

Satellite footage reveals that these three streets have already turned to black ashes, but the fighting continues.

Overall, this was one of the most clever and well-conducted Russian operations.

However, the fact that Ukrainians took back the Tsarska Okhota restaurant undermined Russian plans by cutting off Russian reinforcements.

Russian analysts express deep concerns about the prospects of the bridgehead as the wedge in which Russian assault groups and detachments are operating is too narrow.

Russians can keep basic supplies of bullets, food, and fresh soldiers through the pipe but nothing more, as crawling for 2 kilometers is very difficult.

The best solution for Ukrainians is to find the old schemes of pipes in the region, find where they lead, drop several JDAM bombs on the facilities that Russians use to enter the pipe, and only then initiate the clearing operation.

Reporting From Ukraine will be on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

In the LPR there was an attempt on the life of the head of the republic Pasechnik

The strike of the Ukrainian army on Lisichansk , which resulted in the death of the LPR Minister of Emergency Situations Alexey Poteleshchenko, was an attempt to assassinate the head of the republic Leonid Pasechnik.

We were told about this by sources close to the head of the LPR and FSB officers familiar with the progress of the investigation into this emergency.

“Leonid Ivanovich was already on his way to this birthday (to deputy Ivan Zhushma. Let us recall that the establishment where the politician’s birthday was being celebrated was struck, as a result of which Poteleschenko died, - ed.). An informed person called him and asked him to stop urgently,” says one of our interlocutors.

According to him, Pasechnik’s enemies “leaked the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ coordinates, saying that the head of the LPR would be there,” after which the strike took place. The enemies thought they were hitting Pasechnik.

In addition, we learned important details about this tragedy.

Firstly, in addition to Poteleshchenko, 32 more people who were at the scene of the attack were killed. Among them are not only deputies, but also at least ten important security officials, officers and “serious Moscow guests from among the military.”

According to an FSB interlocutor, Moscow decided not to disclose all the names of the victims. After all, this could lead to destabilization and serious showdowns - both in the highest circles of the security forces and in the LPR. And before the elections, no one needs such a situation.

Secondly, among those who could organize the assassination attempt on Pasechnik, they name “a group of LPR security forces who are close to the former head of the republic Igor Plotnitsky.”

“Igor Venediktovich now has no influence, but he could not forgive his poisoning. He believes that Pasechnik wanted to kill him, and there are still people loyal to Plotnitsky in the republic,” says one of our interlocutors.

According to another, “the traces of the assassination attempt on Pasechnik lead to high offices in the Ministry of Defense, the FSB and even the Kremlin.”

“It seems that we are calm compared to the DPR. The struggle for influence on the Republic is being waged in earnest,” said a source in the LPR government. At the same time, the interlocutor refused to say who exactly he suspects of wanting to kill Pasechnik.

Be that as it may, all sources agree on one thing - there will be new attempts to kill the head of the LPR. We hope he’s okay now. And he will strengthen his security.

⚡️Developers from SkyLab UA have created a strategic strike drone Shoolika mk6, - Minister of Digital Transformation of 🇺🇦 Ukraine Fedorov.

The operating range is up to 10 km, the drone can carry a load of up to 6 kg, has a high-precision control system, and Shoolika mk6 is also resistant to the effects of electronic warfare.

Defense forces have already tested the Shoolika mk6 and given their feedback: the drone is important for tactical operations, especially at night.

Correct...these will not substitute for the Taurus.

If Germany ever does approve the Taurus, they will certainly restrict its use to Ukrainian soil.

These drones will not have that restriction.

They can be used to attack petroleum factories, storage tanks and export terminals.

They can also be used to attack electric substations and other dual use infrastructure.

“They (the Ukrainian Scythe long range strike drones) can be used to attack petroleum factories, storage tanks and export terminals.

They can also be used to attack electric substations and other dual use infrastructure.”

500 per month could inflict damage faster than it could be repaired on such target sets.

3 refinery fires per day, day after day? Plus three railroad tracks blown out every day, and three electrical stations, and three Defense factories, and three more assorted Military installations?

This is just a part of the million drones for 2024.

[ Russians Crossed The Death Valley & Entered Avdiivka ]

==

Day 712: Feb 05

Today, the biggest news comes from the Avdiivka direction.

Here, the most dynamic clashes are taking place in the central part of the region.

First of all, Ukrainian forces managed to localize the Russian breakthrough by retaking key positions that allowed them to establish fire control over the roads.

This way, Russian heavy mechanized assault units cannot enter the region and reinforce those inside the bridgehead, and Russians have to rely exclusively on small supplies via the underground pipe.

Russian sources also released several videos showing how they are delivering additional small supplies with aerial drones.

Due to continuous Ukrainian shelling and tank raids, Russians did not manage to improve their situation, while Ukrainians still have not found and destroyed the entry point to the pipe, causing the frontline here to get stuck.

Such a setting forces Russians to return to and double down on their previous idea of partial encirclement of the town.

The partial encirclement of the town implies penetrating the settlement right between its two most fortified areas: the chemical plant and the area with high-rise buildings.

Moreover, in order to achieve encirclement in this scenario, it is sufficient to advance just from one side because this is where the main Ukrainian supply roads are located.

By advancing in the center and cutting it off, Ukrainians in the southern part of the town will basically have no connection to the mainland, apart from risky dirt roads along the tree lines in the field.

The first major attempt happened a few weeks ago when Russians tried to use mechanized columns. Ukrainian fighters from the one-hundred-tenth mechanized brigade released a video showing this attack.

According to the fighters, Russians tried to split them and open multiple vectors of attack. However, they were spotted well in advance by Ukrainian reconnaissance drone operators and gradually demolished by the time they reached the front line.

Unfortunately, Russians made reasonable adjustments, abandoned the idea of using large armored groups, and switched to pure infantry assaults.

Prior to making each push, Russians would send small units of two to four people one after another into the small residential zone to accumulate forces.

Even though Russian soldiers complained that Ukrainians were targeting even such small groups, overall, the Russian tactic worked, and they expanded the area of control over the so-called Ivushka dacha area on the northern outskirts of Avdiivka.

As a result, the Ukrainian Army withdrew from the tree lines north of the quarry, inevitably giving Russians more freedom of movement in the area.

This reduced Ukrainian fire control over the region and allowed Russians to start reinforcing their infantry with armored fighting vehicles once again. Geolocated footage shows multiple Russian pieces of equipment amid demolished houses.

Nonetheless, the additional reinforcements did not seem to help, and despite having more forces in the Ivushka dacha area, they had less progress.

The main reason for the reduced pace of the operation lies in the topography of the region. If we look at the topographic map, we can see that there is a small valley between Avdiivka and the Ivushka dacha area.

Crossing it required getting exposed, which inevitably led to high losses and retreats. Geolocated combat footage released by Ukrainian special operators reveals that many Russian forces were eliminated by drones.

However, suddenly, the fights did break out on the streets of Avdiivka, implying that Russians penetrated the Ukrainian defense.

Russian sources reported that Russians advanced by up to five hundred meters, reached the railways, and cut off Ukrainian supplies. Other sources started amplifying the news, with some claiming that the whole residential area had fallen.

Nonetheless, based on geolocation, Russians were spotted only on Sapronova Street, implying a significantly narrower zone of operations. A Ukrainian fighter from the twenty-fourth battalion reported that there was no need to be concerned because good news would soon be released.

The freshest updates received several hours ago from the soldiers on the ground indicate that the Russian bridgehead was completely eliminated. Another soldier released a video showing how they cleared the street and took captive all Russian soldiers that survived.

Still, the shifting of fighting left many Ukrainian analysts wondering how the Russians achieved it. Fortunately, Russian sources have promptly revealed it. One Russian source alluded to the fact that the operation was conducted at night to minimize the risk of drone attacks.

Another source alluded to the fact that a special new technology was used to ensure that assault units remained undetected for as long as possible. The analysts concluded that Russians used the so-called invisibility cloak against thermal cameras, which is exactly what Ukrainians are heavily relying on to monitor the perimeter at night.

Now, Ukrainians need to adjust their practices to monitor the region more effectively and use a combination of night vision, thermal cameras, and movement detection systems. All these tools are already available; there is just a question of quantity.

Hopefully, they will be put to use immediately.

The US Army aims to double the production of 155mm artillery shells, a key munition used in Ukraine, by October, with plans to reach 100,000 shells per month in 2025.

The increase is facilitated by a new factory in Texas using new technology.

Current monthly production rates rose from 14,000 to 28,000 by October 2023.

The U.S. seeks to meet Ukraine's ammunition needs amid Russia's invasion, but congressional approval for a Ukraine aid bill, including $3.1 billion for munition production, is crucial for achieving the target.
