Friends, the Capuchin friars welcomed a broken man into their home, their routine, and their lives. In showing Christ’s tender love and mercy to Shia LaBeouf, they saw a man reinvigorated and ultimately welcomed into the fullness of the Church. It’s a beautiful story, modeled time and again throughout the ages by the brotherly example of Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, Padre Pio, these brothers, and countless more.
The more you give of your life and your love, the more the divine grace increases in you. As with all conversions, there’s so much more than we might readily be able or invited to see. The genius and humor of God is that there is a ripple effect with each conversion.

Shia is mentally ill and should have medication. This won’t turn out well.
The guy is a leftwing fraud and lunatic trying to garner attention.
He did throw Bishop Barron a curve ball he whiffed at.

Not everyone is in a position to do that do publicly and prominently.

I’m glad he got his head screwed on straight. He’s a really good actor.
I was going to say, “There goes his acting career” but honestly I can’t think of a thing I’ve seen him in lately ... not that I’ve looked.
I hope it’s a true conversion. That boy has been troubled for so long. I hope he finds peace and purpose in Christ.
Well, given the Pope’s pronouncements lately......
What is a Shia LaBeouf?
*yawn*
