Joe Biden approved the “Nancy Pelosi budget” to avert a government shutdown after 107 Republican members of the House of Representatives broke ranks to join Democrats without a border deal. ... On Thursday, the House of Representatives successfully passed a stopgap funding bill, averting a partial government shutdown that was set to take effect on Friday, Jan. 19th.
The motion was carried with a tally of 314 to 108, with 107 Republicans joining Democrats to vote in favor of the resolution, while 106 Republicans opposed it.
...
The Senate approved the bill earlier in the day by a significant margin of 77 to 18.
Speaker Mike Johnson, who had previously pledged to end the use of CRs after one was passed in November, played a crucial role in ensuring the passage of the stopgap funding bill.
The new CR maintains Johnson’s “laddered” strategy of having two separate funding deadlines, extending them from Jan. 19 and Feb. 2 to March 1 and March 8, respectively.
Facing opposition from House GOP members, Johnson had to rely on Democrats to keep the government funded.

For the RINOs in the Swamp, feeding the Beast that is the federal government is more important than solving our problems and using funding as leverage. In short, the U.S. House of Representatives refuses to use the power of the purse to fix serious problems like the open border and rigged elections. The hour is late, and nothing is being done.

Traitors one and all. They just want to talk about the border, not close it, not stop the invasion, not deport the invaders. Talk gives them opportunity to posture and raise money from suckers thinking they will do something about it.

I guess they feel there’s nothing wrong with maxing out the credit card before they declare bankruptcy. Unfortunately, unlike an individual bankruptcy, we (the creditors) cannot negotiate a payback.

The problem we Republicans face when talking about a government shutdown is the Democrat media.

So who are the 107 Republicans?
To: Dr. Franklin
Many of the Republicans voting for this can look forward to retiring upwards into multimillion dollar K-Street lobbying jobs. Others will get 6 or 7 figure do-nothing board positions, many will have donors who will get a contract funded and kick back political support, some others will have sons or daughters guaranteed admission to Harvard, Yale or Duke, others have businesses that will benefit or stock portfolios, etc., etc..
When the governments meddles in and funds everything, there a 1000 avenues of corruption.
