We had a middle-aged black woman doctor running for a board seat for our POA. Not sure if MD r Jill Biden-type doctor. In any case, she was clearly a blithering idiot without a clue, everyone who interacted with her or heard her present knew it. She did not prevail.
What is scary is that meritocracy has been thrown out the window in favor of blind DEI promotion and awarding of credentials.
It will not end well.
I seem to be stuck in a rut, because I'm making the following sort of comment on a lot of threads lately:
A lot of young people who want to work hard and follow the rules are losing hope that they can achieve the American Dream. There has been a "fundamental transformation" and meritocracy has been thrown out the window in favor of blind DEI promotion and awarding of credentials. Some folks are giving up because "what's the point?" only certain people are allowed to succeed these days.
I wouldn't want to be young. The people getting ahead these days are not the people who ought to be getting ahead.
I have no problem with minorites in any position so long as they are in that position due to skill. The surgeon that opened my chest and repaired my heart (aortic valve and ascending aorta replacement) was from India. I checked him out as I would any surgeon of any creed or race. His reputation was excellent. I told him, “you can do this surgery.”
