This would cause Western stock markets to deflate as Wall Street traders would dump US stocks ASAP.

Americans would halt buying houses since a stock market crash would mean they will be cheaper in the future.
Builders would halt new house construction.
Invaders employed in construction would get hard hit and would blame the Biden administration.
That will buy them a little less than a month - then what?

We can’t disengage from China. The “middle-class” US economy would collapse. If they try to take Taiwan there will be a lot of big talk, but no significant sanctions. And China has too many admirers in our Federal Government - unlike Russia.
We could and we should disengage from China, you’re right we won’t for a number of reasons, the middle class would collapse, product shortages would be widespread, the financial markets would go into meltdown, etc...
We can’t easily disengage in a short period of time; it would take 7-10 years at a minimum.
They need WWIII so they will provoke Russia by any means ‘necessary’ to get what they want.
The transition of the US to asset-based is gaining steam, and I bet this article is an indicator.

Since taking drugs (other than as prescribed for illness) is a CHOICE, and bad choices frequently have bad outcomes, that would rid us of a lot of undesirables.
