Retail has trouble hiring competent people because the hourly pay offered isn't enough to keep your bills apart.
Retail has trouble getting competent supervisors and managers because corporate Stalinists "encourage" (threaten) store managers, using percentages and quotas, to promote mostly blacks and flagrant homosexuals and lesbians.
Retail also has trouble retaining competent people because employees grow cynical after being regularly required to sit in front of back-office computers to watch video propaganda denouncing and mocking whites, males, and people with traditional moral principles--and then being tested on giving the "right" (factually and morally wrong) answers to the questions on the Stalinist quizzes.
A year or so ago I went into a Walgreen’s that is now closed. No one was in the parking lot and the clerk, about 55, was folding linens. She helped me find everything and showed me how to work the awful payment machine that is now the cashier. Terrific woman. I tried to hand her a five dollar tip, but she blanched like I was handing her poison. She told me they would fire her if she took it.
She also whispered that her car was the white chevy out back. I told her the five would be under the drivers’ side tire.
This guy has obviously never worked in a big box store. The biggest problem is they treat GOOD workers like crap. My wife went to work at Wal-Mart after i retired. Hard and conscientious worker.
They abused her big time. No raises. No time to do your actual job. Always having to do the slackers work. Constant schedule changing. Verbal abuse etc. She was there 5 years and they were hiring new people for more pay than her. They CUT her pay when she wouldn’t put up with abuse.
It was a mismanaged store, so maybe others are better. But I doubt it.
Don’t treat good workers like crap. It might work.
