The bright spot here is that robots don’t need to breath . Robots have already done a fine job of exploring the solar system. It’s almost time to put them to work making things and sending their work product back down to Earth . Asimov figured it out a long time ago.
Based on what I’ve seen of their apartment buildings and infrastructure I’m not too worried.

“Think about TV repairmen. Lot fewer jobs doing that simply because the TVs are so much more reliable.”
TVs are considered disposable commodities now and not economic to repair vs. replace.
Image a billion angry Chinese out of a job and nothing to do. Disgruntled people with a lot of time on there hands. That is not going to end well.
“All the workers who are replaced by robots won’t have any income, so they won’t be able to purchase whatever product(s) the robots are manufacturing”
They will have nothing and will be happy.
Nope. Get ready for Cultural Revolution - The Sequel.
That’s their plan.
Idle hands are the Devil’s Workshop.
War is the way to break up the monotony.
over the past 200 years increased productivity of labor has led to economic progress which led to increased prosperity of the economic system as a whole
Are there going to be robot dealerships with new and used models every year?
Because we have all seen this movie, and we don't like the ending...
I don’t really care what they plan to do in manufacturing.
But I do want a robotic maid. It seems like that is finally technically feasible. Clean, straighten up, do laundry, etc
We have reached the point of diminishing returns.
That’s the not going to end well part.
My wife’s family lived through the cultural revolution. Her family nearly started. In addition, her father was taken and beaten because his ancestor owned land. It permanently messed him up. His spirit was completely broken. From my wife’s stories, he went insane from the head trauma and died at 42.
I will never forget that many democrats in the US would try their version of a cultural revolution at the first chance they get. I think that’s why they want to ban guns.
Absolutely nothing bad will come of this.....
Us-—”But they’re taking over our jobs...”
Them-—”learn to code...”
That’s what I was thinking. Why would you need “robots that look and act like people”? Wouldn’t it be better if they looked and acted like an autonomous assemblers that need minimal breaks for preventative maintenance?
Look how clean they are, especially that guy’s new shoes.
Automation is one of the areas in which the Chinese Government wants to achieve dominance over the West.
Its strange, coming from a country where many millions of peasants in rural areas still only earn less than $3000 a year.
