A few years ago, shortly after settling into his new home, TikTok user Adam stumbled upon a delightful surprise - a group of charming chipmunks had made themselves at home on his property. "I would often spot them in my garden and yard," Adam shared with The Dodo. "To my knowledge, I have at least three of them. This is my second year with these little guys."
Intrigued by their presence, Adam decided to establish a connection with his newfound neighbors. He began leaving occasional piles of nuts for the chipmunks to feast on, a friendly gesture aimed at ensuring their bellies remained full. Over time, a bond of trust developed between Adam and the chipmunks. They no longer waited for him to place the snacks; instead, they eagerly approached him directly.

Those ‘little guys’ will dig holes under your foundation.
Squirrel to Mr. Nice Guy: “Nuts to you!”.
Gives new meaning to the term *chipmunk cheeks*.
What is a good way of getting rid of the vermin?
And they talk like Ben Shapiro.
Alvin? Is that you?
Rat traps with cheese or an adult pellet gun with a scope.
Cute.
“Over time, a bond of trust developed between Adam and the chipmunks. They no longer waited for him to place the snacks; instead, they eagerly approached him directly.”
This pretty much describes every picnic area or campsite I’ve ever been within their range.
OK.
I have had good results with bucket traps.
Fill a bucket with about five inches of water.
Put a board on the bucket as a ramp.
Cover the surface of the water with sunflower seeds.
Put a few sunflower seeds on the board leading up the board.
The chipmunks go up the board see the seeds on the water and jump in, can’t get out and drown.
I have had as many as six chipmunks in one bucket.
Rodents. I hate rodents. Even cute ones.
These vermin have caused me $1800 in car damage in a single year.
In cold weather they will be attracted to your car’s engine compartment.
There their chewing instinct will find wires and other electric components.
Three times they found an oxygen sensor to chew on that cost me $600 to replace. Mostly labor but I could not do the work myself
I tried several measure to dissuade the critters from the engine but all for nothing.
This guy is flirting with disaster.
If they find their way into his attic they can do serious damage as well.
I buy unsalted peanuts and put them in a certain place every night for squirrels. I never really thought about it until a squirrel was on my deck when I opened the door talking squirrel talk to me. “You looking for nuts?” I asked. More squirrel talk. So they get nuts. A neighbor gives them peanuts too and he says one comes and thanks him.
Squirrels are very smart. They can bury hundreds of nuts and never forget where they are.
Did you know if you hold a squirrel up to your ear, you can hear what it’s like to be attacked by a squirrel?
Did that by accident. Got a 2 1/2 gal bucket to water the bird bath. I fill the bath and leave ~ 1/2 bucket nearby.
Found a chipmunk that couldn’t swim the other day.
Chipmunks are why I always take a pellet gun camping. They’re fun to shoot.
