Salon Magazine’s senior politics writer Chauncey Devega commemorated Thanksgiving with a fearmongering article devoted to hating Donald Trump and debasing Americans who intend to vote for the former president in 2024.
“Trump and his allies and acolytes are publicly planning to make him America’s first de facto dictator, which will mean the end of the country’s democracy,” Devega warns in an article titled ‘Democracy’s last Thanksgiving‘ published Thursday.
Trump is trouncing Biden in every rigged poll amid skyrocketing inflation, oil and gasoline prices shooting through the roof, manufacturing plants exploding on a regular basis, the Justice Department’s unprecedented prosecution of political speech as Americans continue to suffer from the fallout from the experimental Covid mandates, the government’s continuous allocation of billions of American tax dollars to Ukraine — to name a few of the Biden regime’s catastrophic blunders that pose an actual existential threat to the republic.
Biden’s incoherence, incompetence and incontinence have ushered in new dismal standards for the commander-in-chief.
Trump is resoundingly fairing better than Biden in polls and “ahead of Biden in key ‘battleground states'” because Americans are stupid, Devega contends.
“Journalists, pundits, the mainstream political class, other experts, and everyday Americans who follow politics and current events closely assume that the average member of the public does so as well. There are decades of research by political scientists and other experts, however, that shows this to not be true. In reality, most Americans are politically disengaged, lack a sophisticated understanding of political matters, are imagistic and emotional, have a difficult time retaining and understanding complex information, do not pay close attention to elections until they decide to vote, and more generally are civically illiterate,” the Salon author writes. “More than half of

He did get three terms and if Big Mike would get elected twice that would be five terms of 20 years, about the longevity of most third world dictators.
Yep
“...make him America’s first de facto dictator,...”
Like Lincoln or Roosevelt?
Symian intellectual and all around loser
So is every magazine nowadays.
Up your game, sister.

Decrying the possible death of democracy, while also calling the people stupid? Leftist “logic.”
Wouldn’t this have been the next-to-last Thanksgiving under democracy? Next Thanksgiving, he will be president-elect, and Biden or Harris will still be in power and presiding over democracy’s last stand.
“get flustered”
A while back I had fun with one of those relatives. Here in CT the lefties worship Senator Richard Blumenthal.
HBO had a mini-series documentary on telemarketing abuse by folks representing various police charities. They were all scams of one sort or another—won’t bore you with the details.
I walked the lefty relative through the documentary and he was smiling and enjoying the discussion.
I then explained to him that the documentary made great use of the symbols/graphics used by the various police “charities” and showed how they were at police stations around the country and local businesses who were conned by the scammers and thought they were supporting local police.
We all had a good laugh over that.
Then I got to the good part. The reporter/muckraker decided to see if he could get Congress to do something about the scum telemarketers. He saw that then CT Attorney General Blumenthal had given a speech a couple of decades back blasting these telemarketers and saying “If somebody calls you and claims to represent a police charity, you need to call the police.”
Blumenthal agreed to see him and look at the latest data and information.
He goes into the Senator’s conference room and the Senator seems remarkably uninterested in his presentation—refusing to look at the documents, leaning back in his chair, giving his aides the “get me out of here” look etc.
The meeting ends and the reporter is puzzled and wondering what he did wrong.
The camera pans around the Senator’s conference room and there it is:
The police charity symbols are hanging on the conference room wall.
The Senator is now “owned”.
The look on my relative’s face when I explained that to him was priceless. The relative turned bright red and reminded me of that opening scene from “Scanners” where the guy’s head explodes.
I really thought the relative was going to have a heart attack right there.
No rebuttal was possible.
The corruption of his hero had been exposed.

Based upon comments here and at other conservative sites, the voters are more aware and informed of political issues than the writers at Salon. My goodness, they fell for the Russian Collusion Clinton Criminal Conspiracy hook, line, and sinker. Also, they think the economy under Biden is doing great so how much does that say about their knowledge?
That's what the globalists mean, so bring it on!
? what does that mean?
Insanity is bad
Funny, that is what I think if Sniffer wins. Or, any Bolshie.
The elites push the narrative that conservatives are either too unintelligent to watch the “real” news on TV, or too unintelligent to understand it or too dishonest to admit “the truth” if they do.
Liberals online constantly say that: the TV news is the obvious truth, and conservatives are either too stupid or dishonest to own it.
Many liberals feel even more superior to conservatives because they not only “get” the TV news in all of its complexity, but they also READ the news “truth” too. They get “in depth” news from “diverse sources” that are “real journalism” from the likes of the NY Times, WaPo, Time, the Huffington Post and their local newspaper.
They can’t understand how conservatives can be so stupid as to not understand the news that is repeated over and over everywhere at a simple TV level, with all the “slam dunk” supporting details available in print for the really smart.
Part of the problem is that a lot of people - - especially, for instance, women - - don’t really pay attention to the news until midlife. They’ve been more into entertainment.
So they’re middle-aged political neophytes who don’t have a solid knowledge base. How many, for instance, could do well, without study, on a history quiz on the 1980s? S&L crisis? Gramm Rudman? Soviet leaders? Makeup of Congress? Black Monday? Fall of the Berlin Wall? Approximately where was the Dow in 1987?
Those old enough could probably do great on an ‘80s pop culture quiz, though.
It doesn’t help, either, that there’s some truth in liberal stereotypes about conservatives, and liberals don’t even begin to see their own sins and faults.
