The Netherlands has always been a confusing and confused country... Understandable since they can’t even figure out a standard name for their territory... It’s the Netherlands sometimes... Holland other times... And they call themselves Dutch... Which confuses everybody because Dutsch, or Dutch means German... But the term Dutch also refers to anybody from the Netherlands, or as they spell it Niederlande.

So glad that I’m Irish-Scotch.

As a country the Netherlands does need a kick in the *ss.

They’ve been too generous and too forgiving for too long, probably because of the terrible times that they suffered under German occupation during World War 2, but they’ve always been too nice to everybody. During World War 1 they maintained neutrality and played both sides of the coin... Sometimes, you’ve got to take a stand. Being against a unified Europe is a proper stand.

A unified Europe is nothing less than a cesspool of wokeness and leftwing antisemitic claptrap. It’s Hitler’s vision realized, and any vision that Hitler espoused isn’t worth pursuing. If Geert Wilders and his party can chip away at a unified Europe by leaving the EU, then the world will be a better place... The UK leaving the EU was hopefully just the beggining... The dissolution of the EU can’t happen soon enough.

Economic unity is perfectly sensible, but the idea of all common and civil laws being made by a centralized European parliament and even talk of a unified military force being instituted by the EU is complete bunk.

That means Poland, Bulgaria, Italy and Holland have non-collectivist leaders. With Scandinavia now effecting policies to encourage immigrants to go home.

The Dutch lower chamber, their House of Representatives has 150 seats. Wilder’s party made a good showing, won 35 seats the last I saw, which is more than any other party.

The problem is that none of the major parties are willing to work with Wilder. There’s a definite possibility that Wilder’s party will be shut out of any participation in the Government. Going from 35 seats to the 76 needed for a majority coalition may be a bridge too far.

It makes good headlines, but it’s not really accurate to say Wilder ‘won’ the election, his party came nowhere near winning a majority of seats. A good showing, but a long way from being able to govern.
