They played the Abortion card, and they played it well.

We are going to need a way to overcome that.

Parents Rights are working for us, abortion “rights” are working against us, as arguments.

Sorry, I am very pro-life, but this is my honest assessment.

You needn’t apologize for being a realist.

In my view, the overturning of Roe v Wade was nothing short of a miracle, given the overall social trends and the significant leftwing nutbag presence on the Supreme Court. How, then, did that ruling finally take place after all these years, when more conservative courts didn't or couldn't do it? My theory, even at the time, was that they were allowed to by the Left, precisely to give them a wedge issue to use for recruiting and propaganda purposes.

I don't think the high-ranking globalists on the Left give a damn about abortion laws, or most laws for that matter. Laws are for the little people to fight over. What they do care about, though, is having enough support, or having enough illusion of support, to where they can keep getting away with their shenanigans as they truly tighten their grip on the world.

Other than the most hardcore and perverted leftists who roam the earth with us, I think that, after COVID and our economic collapse, most average rank-and-file Democrat voters are reconsidering their loyalty to the Left. That makes it harder for the cabal to steal the elections like they usually do, so creative accounting and what-not is called for, and an issue like abortion provides them the cover for blatant fraud. People who would normally be smart and astute enough to recognize the obvious signs of vote fraud can explain it away by accepting the argument that, "oh it was the abortion issue that brought out the Democrat voters."

Just the comments on this thread show the degree to which even supposedly intelligent conservatives will accept the most BS explanation for why American patriotism and decency never seem to win despite overwhelming support.

Most of the “parents rights” candidates for school board elections in NJ were short down in flames.

True although I wonder if what’s happening in the states in response to SCOTUS overturning Roe isn’t more or less inevitable. That was a momentous ruling that guaranteed the issue would be taken up immediately at the state level. It was bound to dominate the next couple of state election cycles, and that’s what’s happening. But once the shockwave has passed through and the states have made their laws and policies, it seems to me that it becomes (relatively) settled and drops back from being a front burner issue that decides elections.

IMO the mistake the Republicans might be inclined to make now but should avoid is to give the issue more life by pushing for federal abortion restrictions. That would be handing the Democrats the same weapon to use against us again. The Republicans should have a clear and unified message heading into 2024 that abortion isn’t a federal matter and that they oppose any new congressional legislation on abortion. This has the virtue of being a) consistent with the intent of the Constitution, and b) politically safe.
