If the only people paying the extra costs for EV's were consumers in a free market, the EV makers and charging providers would figure out how to do it cheap enough to sell in the free market. But as long as govt money comes in for the EV industry, those in the industry will keep figuring out reasons their products and services should cost more.
Also good to keep in mind — although I don’t know the actual cost of gasoline, it is certainly less than the $3.50 a gallon (or whatever) people are currently paying. Tons of taxes are loaded into the price of that gasoline.
So the price difference is absolutely huge. People cannot afford EV.
Biden is owned by China, Ukraine, Iran, and Russia. Various others just live off of their scraps…
Last week China instituted export controls on EV battery-grade graphite to the West, of which they control about 90% of the market.
Want to cut them off at the knees?
tell them - keep it. The US Government is not giving one more penny to development of EVs. If people want to buy them, its their own decision.
Even better, the insurance companies are refusing to insure EVs because of the fire hazard (and not just to the cars themselves, but to adjacent cars, buildings, etc.
To quote Dr. McCoy: “They’re dead, Jim.”
“The actual cost of charging an electric vehicle is $17 per gallon”
But heck we’re saving the planet because as everyone knows electricity is free.
