Navy Commander Says Defense Dept. Can ‘Now Not Be Trusted With Your Sons & Daughters’

The United States military is suffering a recruitment crisis says Robert A. Green Jr., an active-duty commander in the United States Navy.

“If I had a message for the American people, it would be this: The DoD (Department of Defense) cannot now be trusted with your sons and daughters,” Cmdr. Green warned.

“The failures of the past 20 years will continue unless there is radical action to right the ship, rebuild trust by defending individual rights, and re-prioritize warfighting readiness,” he continued. “We need to clean house, particularly at the highest uniformed leadership positions.”

--- "All that said though, we are in a real Marxist mess. And the funny thing is that most of the indoctrinated Marxists in our country don't even realize that they are Marxists...they just hate America, our Constitution, and our free market economy and are doing everything in their power to overthrow our government. They have no idea what kind of government will replace our current system except that it will be Edenic. Our indoctrinated kids (and adults) are classic useful idiots."

You've quote well stated the "mess."

An acquaintance in NYC years ago stated he was a Marxist, and when I asked "so what is your take on the value theory of labor," he was stumped. Because he adopted the moniker but didn't read nor know of what he spoke.

We are in the midst of many, many 'superbly' ill-educated people, courtesy of public "edjushun" and the Lefty media. Sad.

It is taking the collapses in inner cities to begin to strip away the pretense of "Edenic" Lefty world.

That’s just sad, for him AND for the country - losing a good man.

“Robert A. Green Jr., an active-duty commander in the United States Navy”

But not for long

A majority of the articles you posted date back to the Trump Administration. You could argue that the pre-Covid economy was so strong that it lessened economic incentives to enlist. The “woke” character of the armed services goes back to Obama and Clinton. The younger Bush and Trump did not effectively reverse the degeneration. With almost three years of the Biden regime and a weak economy, recruitment still lags. The military is in its worst shape since at least the 1930s when MacArthur threatened FDR with resignation due to the poor shape of the U.S. Army. God help us if we get into a multifront war.

13 service men and women were killed in the withdrawal from Afghanistan. What I’d like to know is how many others were injured, maimed for life if you will, in that same incident. Our government is hiding those numbers.

Don’t forget the numerous brass that were relieved of duty during the Obama years.

The Navy uses the euphemistic phrase “loss of confidence” to keep the real reasons hidden from the public. Within the Navy the reasons are known especially amongst Chiefs. There is a possibility that some woke Karen or Chad filed a grievance but unless there is actual documented evidence, you don’t see seniors officers relieved. The implication of having so many Commanding Officers relieved is the Navy lacks qualified officers to fill command positions.

I also 100% agree with that assessment of the US military, and I know that many within the military also agree. I worked with them for many years, they know............

Gee you mean the problem with recruiting isn't because Americans are too fat? /sarc

Go woke go broke.

Milley destroyed the traditional attitude about the military. Now we have members of the military who are trained in woke and CRT principles and not in military combat principles.

IMO, the first step should be to cut General/Flag Officer billets by 50%. We have far too many generals for the mission today.

Secondly, hold officers accountable for their actions, whether it be for bad behavior, or as bad leaders.

As an LT, I saw "accountability" up close and personal. One of my "extra duties" was Augmentation Reserve Force commander, in support of a nearby Nike Hercules Battery. During their Nuclear Surety Inspections, we'd be called out to participate, a 40 man infantry platoon, so to speak.

It was no joke, live ammo was issued to each soldier before we left the motor pool. I gave them two hours of refresher training, they hadn't done any small unit tactics since basic training. Never had an accident, a round fired accidentally, in 6 of those ARFs.

In the unlikely event that the battery failed, our Deputy CG was on site to relieve the chain of command on the spot: Battery, Battalion, and Group Commanders. The pucker factor was stifling.

In contrast, no one was relieved over the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

BTW, Commander Green was relieved of his duties in Jan 2022. What I’d give to sit down with him and compare our experiences over a few adult beverages.

Talked a cousin, HS graduate this spring, out of going into the military.

Did the same with a nephew. He and his buddies thought the Marines would be "bad ass" I told him he'd likely have to deal with tranny propaganda and pronouns - also he'd become cannon fodder for Hunter Biden's corruption in Ukraine or Deep State globohomo schemes. NO WAY.

Civilized nations do not send women into combat.

Israel does.

In the early days of the German invasion of the USSR, political commissars had tremendous influence...at times over=riding sound decisions by commanders in favor of "party" thinking.

After the early defeats the Ruskies realized that even communists needed sound military doctrine and tactics.

Losing makes one realize the basics do work. I'm afraid we'll have to incur casualties to realize wokedom doesn't work.

One idea they quickly scrapped, was having women on the front lines.

Active duty and spoke out. A modern day gen. Singlaub. Jimmy Carter fired him. Fine. Under Clinton guys like that were not allowed to quietly retire. They had to show them who’s boss on the way out. Singlaub had his 30+ years so he was safe. This Lt. Commander I’m sure has his 20 so sometimes they can be as brave as a GOP rino in a deep red state.

There’s one Lt. Colonel who recently spoke out-had 17 years in. Brave or smart?
