To borrow one of Joe Biden’s most frequent lines, “Not a joke.”
Actually, it was. A Florida man posted memes and he’s going to jail for it.
Douglass Mackey, a.k.a. Ricky Vaughan online, was sentenced to seven months for posting some memes about voting for Hillary Clinton back in 2016. We suppose it’s obvious that United States District Judge Ann M. Donnelly didn’t get the joke because she — let’s just call her Karen — punished Mackey for election interference.
Great, now do Hillary.
Indeed, it is beyond ironic that Clinton interfered in the 2016 election — though we suppose we have to grant that she was a candidate — by paying for the Steele dossier and thus seeding the entire collusion hoax supposedly involving Russia and Donald Trump. It was fake, fabricated, and entirely phony, but it nearly saved herself from her own criminal email scandal that itself was meant to disguise possibly illegal Clinton Foundation pay-to-play shenanigans. The Russia hoax failed to elect Hillary, but it totally succeeded in undermining Trump’s only term, as he was weighed down by deep state actors doing Clinton’s bidding and then by congressional Democrats who impeached him the first time because the collusion hoax laid the groundwork.
It also set the stage for interference in the 2020 election via media suppression of the story about Hunter Biden’s laptop and Joe Biden’s own influence-peddling scheme. It was — get this — Russian disinformation, said 51 “intelligence experts” who interfered with the election and who now often enjoy gigs as cable news commentators.
Anyway.
Back to poor Douglass Mackey. “You are not being sentenced for your political beliefs or for expressing those beliefs,” Judge Karen assured him. “Each one of us has the right to hold opinions and express those opinions.”

Not appealed? This is just unbelievable. No justice in this jungle.
Just like the Nazis:
Joseph Müller told a joke of a dying German soldier who asked to see people for whom he was laying down his life. The nurse laid a portrait of Hitler and Göring next to him. The soldier said “Now I can die like Jesus Christ” [between two criminals]. Müller was executed for the joke.
Another complete travesty of “justice”.
I wonder if maybe Hillary herself was fooled? /slight S ;>)
I’d like to add that during the HUAC hearings, investigators learned many cues to identify communists who had infiltrated the US government, of whom there were lots.
While not unique to communists, “fanatics” of all types tend to have a rigid mindset. If they cannot integrate information into their small rigid mindset, it is discarded as irrelevant. This includes humor.
While it was not conclusive proof of fanaticism, it was a strong indicator. And the test for it was simple. Tell them a joke. This was far deeper than you would think.
Jokes contain irrationality and non sequiturs. Spontaneous, gut laughter is the response of a normal person, actually a defensive method against irrationality, but fanatics *can’t* spontaneously laugh. They might be able to give a forced, ha-ha, but that is as much to dismiss the joker as much as the joke.
So when you hear that “leftists hate humor”, it is correct.
Douglass Mackey made things easy for the prosecutors by putting Hillary’s actual campaign web address on his meme. He also used her actual campaign symbol (the H with an arrow).
Now, if he had put something like ‘OnlyFoolsVoteForHillary.com’, he probably would have been okay.
Moral of the story: Don’t make things easy for the Deep State.
Or the clown who said, "It is about time for another president to be assassinated?"
Of course, no prosecution for her.
Right. Don’t resist. Curl up in a corner.
> Right. Don’t resist. Curl up in a corner. <
It’s not an ‘either/or’. It’s a ‘play it smart’.
Here’s another way of looking at it. The Deep State totalitarians like either/or. The want you to either curl up in a corner or make yourself an easy target. They really don’t care which one you pick.
Don’t play their game. Instead, don’t curl up in a corner AND don’t make yourself an easy target.
