Kari Lake locks down a key GOP establishment endorsement

Kari Lake is making nice with the GOP establishment.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), the chair of the Senate Republican Conference, endorsed her bid on Monday for Arizona’s Senate seat — the latest sign that the party’s leaders are warming to her candidacy.

Lake ran for Arizona’s governor in 2022 as a hard-charging conservative outsider who embraced conspiracy theories and was quick to turn her ire on fellow Republicans. But her campaign launch last week suggested an attempt to pivot — and included a plea to voters who once supported President Joe Biden.

Barrasso’s support marks Lake’s first endorsement from a sitting senator and it is a notable one. He is a member of Senate leadership and a close ally of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

“Kari Lake will shine brightly for Arizona. She is a generational communicator who is giving voice to Arizona citizens,” Barrasso said in a statement. “Kari Lake is in this race to make Arizona and America stronger.”

Looks like the Establishment is realizing that they won't defeat her in the primary and it would be a waste of money to try.

They'll probably sandbag her in the end in the general anyway, so they probably figure "she's going to be the nominee anyway so no harm in pretending to support her right now. We'll withhold funds from her and quietly hope for a Democrat victory later."

Incumbent Kyrsten Sinema is already in this race and she was in Davos earlier this year for the WEF.

Sinema runs as a “Third Way” candidate. The Globalists got her to drop the D label after the 2022 election to be an Independent.

The GOP doesn’t need a Davos candidate Sinema already is.

A couple of things, Sinema is a 2-time incumbent, she is a formidable politician, Lake’s chances will go up if the Democrats nominate a candidate which makes the race a 3-way contest.

I like Sinema better than Lake.

Lake is not a politician...just a spokesperson for the party....and in the end will wind up with a nice cushy media position...which is what I believe she really wants.

Sinema talks normal but votes with the RATS 98% of the time.
Very similar to Joe Manchin.
Lake has been working with Wendy Rogers.
Rogers run for the Senate was sabotaged by the McCain camp and they forced McSally on us.

That is how Sinema got in.
The battle in AZ is against the McCain camp and nothing is going to change here until they are totally thrown out.

It would not hurt my feelings if the McCain Camp was totally thrown out, but all-out war with them is not a good idea.

Some percentage of the McCain Voters are loyal conservatives and should be encouraged to vote for Lake and would if you don’t alienate them.

Look at how few votes separated Lake and Hobbs in 2022, less than 20,000 in over 2.5 million votes.

In a 3-way race, if Lake siphons off 5-10% of the McCain voters she has a really good chance of winning, alienate those voters and some will stay home, some will vote for Sinema, etc., and make the race a winnable race into a loss.

It’s the Mormons. That’s how the Flakes got in. Same with mittens in Utah. Cost us in Nv. too. We’ll need the help of democrats screwing up.

Yes. Lake is a good candidate and just like Trump she’s walked through in her own way a “Crapstorm” and still stands tall.

At least Sinema is real and cuz I think Kari is a phony.

She's switched parties over and over. Supported Obama whole heartedly.

if the Democrats nominate a candidate

They will. It is slated to be Rep. Ruben Gallegos. He is far left and has bashed Sinema.

You have to believe Gallegos or whoever it turns out to be, siphons the far left from Sinema and Lake can consolidate the Republicans, if that happens, Lake has a great chance to win.
