Anyone who can watch a baby being killed and say to himself "I need to give the parents a religious quiz first" is not a Christian.
In fact I doubt you are even human.
I will distinguish to the extent as to what "supporting and defending" covers. If it means protecting the innocent in the moment (Israeli or Palestinian), approving should go without saying.
If "supporting and defending" means going along carte blanche with the current policy of Israel (which has resulted in a situation where over 40% of the population of Gaza, being under the age of 15, has known nothing but life under Hamas and under Israeli blockade in one of the most densely populated areas in the world; that's what I'd like to call a 'demographic and geopolitical pressure cooker'), then I would say it's not un-Christian to disagree with what's turned out to be self-defeating actions (such as tacitly supporting Hamas at the expense of Mahmoud Abbas).
Alas, the frenzy that's gripped everyone is depressing; at least on my feed, calls for retribution against Hamas are strictly overwhelmed by calls for eradicating every single Palestinian within Gaza. It's even more inexcusable to see such mania descend on people who aren't party to the conflict whatsoever.
On a material level, just given the long blood feud between the Israelis and the Palestinians, I don't think anybody would trust the Israelis to adjudicate a takedown of the Gaza Strip. Realistically, the most optimal solution would be joint task force comprised of foreign nationals from across the diplomatic spectrum (those who are pro-Israel and anti-Palestine, those who are pro-Palestine and anti-Israel, and those who have professed neutrality as their policy) to defeat Hamas and oversee any humanitarian corridors and operations; naturally, this would involve an end to the blockade, so this joint task force would have to remain indefinitely until an ultimate political resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian would be achieved.
But in truth, there will be no true peace until all (Jew or Muslim, Israeli or Arab) convert to Christ.
