Gold, and all other heavy metals, is created in the heart of stars when they go supernova and their debris contents are spread over vast stellar distances.
Some aggregate and form asteroids, some form new stars and planets................
Thanks- I thought I was remembering right, but wasn’t sure- I have to wonder though how it got from space to earth where there is so much of it in the ground. Seems like the planet would have had to be bombarded constantly and massively to deposite that much gold, but then again, maybe only a few impacts were necessary if the asteroids contained large amounts of gold.
I know there is talk of mining on asteroids- if anyone can acc9mp,ish that, the payoff should be huge
