That’s why I’m very selective on what groups and organizations I join. To make the backlash of a public statement they made a privacy issue is ludicrous.
I draw a distinction.
There is Johnny, who plasters his ugly mug all over social media and tags every pro-Hamas comment with his student group. He has ZERO expectation of privacy.
Then there is Mary, who doesn’t have many friends or social media and comes to their meetings to hang and maybe escape depression. She isn’t pro-Hamas and youths do stupid things.
I visited the website of one of these student organizations - membership (even leadership) isn’t named.
So, how were these personal details obtained?
