The people of Gaza are responsible for the government they elected.

Voting is a serious matter.

Voting can have serious consequences.

Voting is not to be taken lightly.

“My family always votes Democrat.”

“I don’t like the way he looks.”

“I hope he gives me some money.”

As far as I can tell, Israel’s Rules of Engagement will be far more lax than usual. I suspect their boys will be told to ignore the human shields as if they don’t exist. So don’t target them, but also don’t take steps to protect them. It’s up to Hamas to realize that their human shields won’t work, not this time.

I was under the impression that every household in Israel had an Uzi, that both parents knew how to use it, and there were plenty of ammo and pistols. Was I sorely mistaken. They have gun control and it is severe. In their environment with threats from all sides, with every adult a military vet, with barrages of terrorist attacks through the years, to have an unarmed citizenry is incredibly imprudent.

There’s never a cop when you need one, and there’s never an army either.

I do not want to blame the victim but I would have sworn every home was armed. Now Israel is allowing more liberalized gun ownership.

I think this answers the question why anyone would need an AR-15.

Hamas did not "miscalculate".

Their backers and masters had every reason to expect the terror campaign would work exactly as intended. They still do have reasonable expectations of that.

Palestinians are pawns in a much bigger game. Israel has been paralyzed by leftist corruption of their government and their society. For that matter, so has America. A hard terrorist push just might cause both to fold.

And if that does not work, the atrocities of a retaliation can be used to demoralize Israel and America, while simulating opposition in every other country.

The suffering and deaths of Palestinians are a feature of the campaign. The Hamas backers do not care one bit about that, except to exploit the imagery.

We should not care about that either.

Hamas are today’s version of the Einsatzgruppen terror squads of the Nazis.

No atrocity is too big when your government says go ahead and murder, rape and kill whomever you want.
