Epps entered Capitol grounds on Jan. 6 as a supporter of former President Donald Trump. He told the Jan. 6 committee that the conspiracy theories about him ruined his life.
WASHINGTON — Ray Epps, a Jan. 6 participant whose removal from the FBI's Capitol Violence webpage sparked conspiracy theories that he was a federal informant, was charged in connection with the Capitol attack on Tuesday.
Epps is charged with one misdemeanor count, disorderly or disruptive conduct on restricted grounds. He was charged by information, which suggests that he plans to enter a plea deal.
The criminal information charges that Epps "did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds—that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was and would be temporarily visiting—when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, and attempted and conspired to do so."
Most of the thousands who unlawfully gathered on the restricted grounds of the U.S. Capitol have not been charged unless they engaged in some sort of aggravating conduct, like attacking police or destroying property. Video shows that Epps attempted to deescalate tensions between the police and rioters, though he's also shown with his hands on a giant Trump sign the rioters jammed into the police line. A federal judge acquitted another Jan. 6 participant who had his hand on that same sign, saying that his intent was unclear.

We’ll take away he hasn’t been charged claims.
In one video that has been widely viewed on Twitter, he can be heard saying, “I don’t even like to say it because I’ll be arrested. I’ll say it. We need to go into the Capitol.”
Ray Epps told The Arizona Republic in a brief telephone interview Monday that he had traveled to the capital for the event, and that he had been advised by an attorney not to speak about it.
“I think the truth needs to get out,” he said.
A video online appears to show him saying, “We’re here to defend the Constitution” and “We need to go into the Capitol."
If anything, this is only to gag him.
F---ing lying MSM scum!
Huge pay-off there.
Glowie fee
He will be reassigned to another fedgov agency.
Wow, there really is a 2-tiered injustice system. The man was most likely a paid agitant and now he gets misdeamenor charge? Fascsim.
No insurrection? No interfering with a government proceeding? No FBI 6am swat raid? Just a trivial charge with the outcome negotiated in advance. Mail in a small finger that will get handed to be him in cash.
Sheep dip coverup.
:)
If what he did was only a ‘misdemeanor’ then I’d want to know if this could be used against the State for the other prosecutions, this is clearly an uneven standard and overcharging of others.
I’m no lawyer but am probably right to some degree IF we lived under actual rule of law and blind justice...something has to give.
Just part of the coverup. Now people are supposed to think he was not operating for the government after all. Yet it only took years to charge Epps.
“Most of the thousands who unlawfully gathered on the restricted grounds of the U.S. Capitol have not been charged unless they engaged in some sort of aggravating conduct, like attacking police or destroying property.”
More lies and propaganda from NBC.
Just taking away talking points for the election. Hunter charged for nothing, Ray Eppes charged for nothing, both will walk free without any real punishment and then if anyone ever mentions them again the spin is ‘they were charged and convicted, why are you bringing them up? Clearly there was no preferential treatment! Move on!’
5 years for someone who wasn’t even in D.C. on J6, and Epps will get a fine and probation.
Someone exersizing the sense of authority with which Epps behaved was not acting independently or alone. This DOJ prosecution is just mover coverup.
Bingo.
lemme guess- they will do a ‘thorough investigation’ of him and find that “Sure, he broke the law, but he ‘didn’t intend to’
Charge Epps with jaywalking, $10 fine, and now Feds have "proven" "Epps is not a Fed asset".....
Plea deal... I have no doubt.
The Feds needed to charge this guy and give him a slap on the wrist with NO JAIL time, to keep him from running his mouth and blowing the Fedsurrection wide open!
Wonder how much they’ve paid him?
Besides, I thought the J6 committee, with all of their missing transcripts and records, said there was no there, there with regard to Epps. A big ol’ nothingburger?
Were they lying?
All I know, based on what I’ve seen of Epps, is that he should be charged, tried, and then tarred and feathered and hung by the neck on the Capitol grounds until he stops twitching.
Our DOJ needs to be completely gutted and shuttered, and many therein need to receive the Epp’s treatment described above for their treason to this nation!
