Weird like a fire incinerating cars and houses yet leaving trees alone?
s
I was caught up in the Bastrop fire of 2011. I never saw weird stuff like this.
So, it’s a DEW then?
That’s kind of a leap.
Re: 85 - What direction was the fire traveling?
What ground cover was between the houses and tree line?
Were there any mitigation measures taken in the area between the houses and tree line?
Is there any ditching or other elevation differences between the houses and tree line?
What species of trees?
Are there images of the larger area?
You see, you need to ask questions. In EVERY fire that involves a woodland/urban interface there are going to be areas that are burned and areas that are not.
I'd explain it to you but you wouldn't believe the explanation.
